Plastics Already!

Hey all

So I'm sceduled for plastics on 6/5!!! (10 months post op

I know I know some people have opinions about being at goal and stable for several months, but my BOOBS are serioulsy obscene and cause me great pain. I went for my consult with Dr. Marchant (Doylestown) in February and I got the letter of approval from Key Stone East about 2 weeks ago. I was denied for my panniculectomy but I am appealing it. (frankly my issues with redundant skin on my belly are far worse than my boobies) I would love to have it all done at once, but may just have to wait another 6 months for my belly.

I discussed with my surgeon the pros/cons about having surgery and he's assured me that I'm close enough to goal and he needs some "fat" to work with anyway to reconstruct my breast tissue.

So with that said, I'm super excited/nervous/terrified to be going under to knife again.

EDIT: forgot to ask my question.

So has anyone else had plastics this early out and if so did you loose a signifigant amount of weight afterwards and what were the results like?

if the plastics doc says it is ok... then I would listen to him... I have 80 more pounds to go but my PCP is getting worried about my boobs not getting smaller (haven't lost any there yet) and freaking out (think it is called) my AC joint in my shoulders... it is right where my bra straps lay...

BUt I have to wait till after the baby comes and then these suckers are sooooo getting wacked off!! Because it is impossible to find a 38G...

Uh...so are you having a reduction?  Or just a reconstruction?Congrats on the approval - I can't believe they approved you for the boobies and not the panni.  Duh?!I can't offer an experience on the subject but I'm in agreeance that if the plastic guy thinks you are ok for it, then what the hell, go for it!Pam

I am having a mammaplasty reducton, yes. However he will also use my own tissue to create a fuller look vs. the lovely long look I'm currently sporting

And I agree, must have been a man that approved the damn boobs and not the belly :P

Shannon, I'm in the same boat. I've lost 83lbs everywhere else but in my chest. I was a 44DD pre-op and I'm a 36DD post op. I have very dense breast tissue and the weight of them wreaks havoc on my back and shoulders. I cant wait to have them chopped off! (I guess a full C small D isn't really chopping them off)

Melanie:

Congrats on the approval. Best of luck with your surgery.

I too was 44 DD pre op. I am only 3 months out and have lost about 60 lbs. all over but my breasts are 38 DD; so far no pain but they do concern me with their size given the rest of me is shrinking.

Hi Melanie,
How are you? I am really close to goal and want mine done as well. I just didn't think insurance would cover them. I went from a 44DDD to a 36DD. I lost 120 pounds and thought for sure I would be at least a C cup by now. How far down are you going? I want a regular D but am not sure if insurance would only cover a little reduction. I am 5'9" and still have large frame so B or C's are just not for me.

Good luck.

Tracy!

I miss you, I wish we could get together and hang out.

Insurance approved the boobs with in a week, no questions asked. In order to be covered for medical nessecity my surgeon will be required to remove about 600cc (300cc from each) The doc seems to think this will bring me to a small D/full C but no gurantees.

We also had to show that I have a history of back problems and/or shoulder problems, rashes, skin irritation, shoulder grooving etc. My big thing is back problems, I have been treated for years with muscle relaxants for chronic back spasms. However frankly I think it's more the lack of abdominal muscles that casues that than the weight of my boobs.

Regardless, I'd psyched! (and scared)

I miss you too! We should get together.

I've had horrible back problems for 9 years now. Twice I was in the hospital and I have had pain management, acupunture, PT (4 times) and chiro care. It's horrible and now that they sag really low it hurts more. I guess that's because my big belly helped hold them up...lol. I guess it's worth a shot to try. The least they could say is no.

Keep me posted.

Take care,
Tracy

WWWHHHHAAAAA!!!  I miss my boobies so much!!  Pre Op I started as a 54DDD - today (15 months out)  I am a 36C and they arent really real - I call them pseudo boobs.  In reality - they are flaps of skin with nipples.   I just pour all of that loose hanging skin into a formed bra  - but the bra never comes off.   Oh wouldnt my dates have a horrific surprise if the bra ever did come off.

Congrats on the plastics approval!  I live very close to D-Town and would be interested in hearing how you do.
