home and in good shape...
First, thank you Norm and Shauna for posting updates and for every one that checked in on me. And thank you to all the people who supported me on the road up to yesterday...i really appreciate it, especially those how had alreay had their PS done and gave me feedback and advice, etc. I tried going through all the text messages and voice mails last night and attempted to answer most of them but i was kind of loopy and arm movement is limited. I had my phone off during the day because my mom is technologically challanged and there is no way she would have ever figured out how to unlock it and answer it with the touch screen....so I figured I would save her the frustration.
Went into surgery at noon...an hour and a half later than scheduled. Got out after 6pm. I woke up right away and was feeling pretty good. I am usually a raging ***** when I wake up from anethesia...but I was in good spirits. Everything was great until I got out of bed the first time and got really nauseous...that happened on and off for a few hours. We didnt leave the hosptial until 9:30PM and it took us 3 hours to get home...had to stop every half hour so I could walk around for a while.
I slept ok....got up every couple of hours to move around.
Breast....piece of cake...minor muscle tightness kind of feeling every once in a while, but thats it. Oh and the bra they send you home in is BEAUTIFUL LOL..,very sexy! Much to my surprise, when I looked down the first time, my chest was flat...i though, oh **** he took my boobs OFF...but apparently, the start out flat and then POP out later.....they better pop out damnit....he put in 330cc's in each and I had a good amount of tissue in there to begin with. we shall see....
Arms...royal pain in the butt! I am really limited in my movement and need to have about 90% of things done for me. I really wasn't prepared for how difficult even putting on a shirt or lifting a cup to my mouth would be. I decided on wearing a big oversized men's button down shirt and a long cotton skirt...going commando because pulling up underware is close to impossible LOL. Pain wise....it hasnt been too bad, but when it does act up its a burning kind of pain. Lots of swelling in my lower arms and hands...and even my shoulders are swollen....I look like sponge Bob Square pants....or a linebacker......but i am looking very square and flat.
Going for my follow up visit on Tuesday...no showering until then...good thing its not the middle of summer in 95 degree heat LOL I cant even use deoderent....
Ok...i think i need to rest my arms....

Heather,
I am glad overall things went well. I am sure it's no fun not being able to fend for yourself, but that will pass. And when the boobs do "pop", I hope they are perky and stand at attention for you! LOL
Take it easy and lots of people are thinking you. Congrats on the PS and hope its all you want it to be.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
welcome home heather
. be kind to yourself and let the healing begin!! I admire you, I had breast reduction done 3 years ago (before RNY) and i thought to myself "dont let anyone tell you a they had 'just a little' plastic surgery....it was rough" . I actually am having a smoother recovery with my RNY.
just take it slow and before you know it the boobs will "pop":. I remember after my reduction, looking down at the girls for the first time and crying, thinking whaaaaaaaaaaaa i am flat chested, but they soon popped on their own lol.

It's great to hear that pain is manageable for your sake and soon to be mine. I'm getting 330ccs also. The arm thing sounds like a pain with all the limitations but I know you will have funny stories to tell. I saw Shauna at Liz's and she said you were doing remarkably well. Off to girls night out. You will be missed but we will drink to the new you.
