Ok, so after finding out Lorelei has the croup and 2 of my co-workers somewhat turning on me (old bitty hags), my OBGYN dumps some more on me... the baby is fine etc... but after talking to her about how the light-headed-ness/dizzy spells are getting worse she is slightly concerned...

She told me that it is my blood pressure dropping when I get up to fast off the floor or when I bend over to pick something off the floor... which my old bitty hag co-workers don't by btw... the doc is telling me to add more salt to my diet... and to up my water from 64 oz to 100oz... all I can say is OMG... BTW- my doc gave me a note to take to work saying to not sit on the floor or lean over lol... then she told me to tell Jeremy not to let me unload the dishwasher... or put anything heavy into the oven... she had one patient fall into the oven- passed out... and another into the dishwasher... and she herself has passed out... so she understands lol... and then she added that if this isn't better in a month we are going to have a serious talk... because each visit my blood presure reading is dropping... a lot... it is now just barely in the normal range...

So... how do I get in 2000 calories and 100 oz of water...

I don't know anything about getting 2000 calories a day in. My OB was just happy with me eating every few hours. And wanted them to be things that were healthy as possible. Now I veered away from that, but am doing better. I doubt I get 2000 calories per day. But I get protein, fruit and veggies, plus take vitamins.

As far as the water, just sip as often as possible. And maybe eat some foods that have natural sodium in them.

The link is a list of sodium in common foods.

Good luck and hope you can keep that blood pressure at a normal range.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

ohhh thank you for that list... so much of my stuff is low salt or salt free so I found an easy way to fix that now thanks to that list... going to eat 2 piece of bacon a day lol... of course nitrate free... but one at breakfast and then one once I get home from work should help get me up...

Part of the reason for the high calorie intake is because I lost weight while on steriods and pregnant... so right now my system is jacked calorie burning wise... today I weighed the same as the last night... fully clothed and had eaten a TON today... so I think I lost a little more again...

They don't want me loosing or gaining any weight... aka stay the same weight... so at the end of all of this I would of really lost weight... and put me closer to my goal weight lol... does that make any sense lol... so I am to stay at the 211/214 range...

well i am off to bed... but thanks again for that list!

I hope you are able to follow the doctor's guidelines.  I have a 32 ounce water bottle that I keep with me, and I just sip throughout the day.  I would suggest you try that.  Of course, be prepared to keep visiting the bathroom.

As for your co-workers, hang in there.  Every job has people like that working there...que sera, sera.

Hugs,
Trish

i ave a water bottle sippy like that now... and drink on it from 8:30 to 1:30 at the gym... and then again from 4:30 to 8:30 when I can refill it at home before going back in... and I drink inbetween that at home... but just harder to drink anymore than that and keep from eating and drinking at the same time lol... but I am peeing all the time now lol...

but off to look for something salty lol...

Orthostatic Hypotension is what you are describing.

If you MUST be on the floor (like w/ Lore) make sure you change positions VERY slowly.  Even from getting up off the couch.  Sit forward (with your butt on the edge) and sit there for a minute or two.  And then stand and STAND there for a minute or two (no walking)  When getting up from bed...same routine....sit up and sit for a minute or two...then dangle your legs off the bed and sit for a minute or two.  The idea here is to allow your blood pressure to stabilize before you change your position again (even just walking forward)

On most days I get in at least 90 ounces of fluid, it's not that hard - just takes some getting used to.  And of course - especially with you being pregnant - the bathroom thing will be an issue - but keep working it.

And I would start adding salt to my food if nothing else :)  Of course - you could get some chinese food and call it a day, LOL

ohhh glad you posted... because today... just standing... hadn't sat on the floor or anything I almost passed out... I had gotten in about 30 oz by that point... so it seems that standing isn't so good now lol...

I haven't had any issues with getting on and off the couch and chairs...

right now my biggest issue is not eatting and drinking at the same time to get in all those calories and fluids... gotta any good protein shakes that will cover both lol... all of mine are low calorie lol... even if I use 2% milk lol...

my favorite protein shake is soy milk, chocolate protein powder and a frozen banana - since you are looking to add calories you could always make them with sugar free vanilla ice cream mixed in!

What about something like ensure? Do they have a low sugar version so you could drink some of your calories?

where did you find sugar free soy milk?

I just get the plain soy milk. I don't think that there is sugar in it - now I have to go check! lol

OK so it has some evaporated cane juice in it - never made this "super dumper" dump though!
