One Year Surgiversery!
So today is the big day! My one year Surgiversary! I remember being scared and not knowing if I will be coming out alive. I do know one thing today that my only regret is not getting the surgery done sooner. My biggest Milestones since I have lost over 98 pounds:
- Being Able to see my toes and paint them cross legged!
- Sitting on the floor and playing with my kids and not feel like a twisted pretzel
- Being able to ride every roller coaster ride at Six Flags last summer
- Being able to see people’s jaw’s drop every time I would see them thru the months.
- Making my parents proud that I did not take this journey lightly and kept my promises to be healthy.
- My daughter telling me that I am beautiful, I always was but now more so.
- My husband carrying me over the threshold because he never got to do it when we first got married.
- Getting off some off my Arthritis medication since I have lost so much weight
- Being able to share my journey at Dr. Pupkova’s seminar for those who are considering this surgery.
- Making lifelong friend thru the Barix Boards and the Support Group. I am eternally grateful for my wonderful OH family. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
- Being Able to wear a bathing suit without covering myself up with a long frumpy cover up.
- Being able to buy medium sized tops and size 6 pants as of this morning!
- Going to the Christmas party last year and 4 guys giving me their phone numbers. One of them was 26 years old and when I told him I was married he asked me to call him if it did not work out. LMAO.

Much Congratulations Shilpa!
You have been looking mahvelous for some time and have met your challenges and recognized your triumphs well. Like so many of us you've found a home here and give all that you can. We just can't help ourselves. Support is in our blood and helping and doing well is in our DNA.
All the best to you and may you always find you're successing,
Dennis

Shilpa,
WOW! and CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SUCCESSING LIFE! I am so happy to have shared this journey with you, you are amazing and your daughter gave you the gift of validation, but, it seems to me, you've given it to yourself and may you continue "Successing" for the rest of your lifetime!
Hugs and warm wishes, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen
