does this happen to anyone else?
I have had no appetite since Friday night....none. I am forcing food into my mouth in order to get my nutrients in. I haven't been this uninterested in food since right after surgery. Does this happen to anyone else that isn't fresh out of surgery?? I am thinking that rather than forcing food down my throat, I should try instead to drink protein shakes. It's better than not eating at all. Come to think of it, this would be an ideal time to do the 5 day pouch test! There are days here and there where I don't think to eat, but never more than just one day. This is 3 days AND PMS time, so usually I am eating everything but the kitchen sink. I guess I should be thankful since I want to lose about 20 pounds in the next 2 1/2 weeks (hahaha...yeah, I know...it's not going to happen!)
Something I just thought of..... For the past 10 days I have been trying to eat as organic and whole as possible. I have cut out most carbs exect for fruits/veggies and whole grains...and the whole grains are very limited. So, I am wondering, now that I am eating more organically and whole, has my body lost all the urges it was having before? Maybe, its not that I have lost my appetite, but rather lost all the unhealthy cravings and this is what is "normal."

Heather ..I get this feeling some days it seems like to eat food is a major chore to get it down. I would rather just not eat anything then the feeling of fourcng to it because I know I need to get the protein then there are days I still feel I could eat a horse.
I am curious to see if it is the change in your way of eating...
Good luck though girlfriend.

Heather I have been like this too since I was sick 2 weeks ago - I have to force food. Now granted I'll take it! Most night for dinner I have been having a protein shake or something very lite - I've been trying to eat my "heavier" meal at lunchtime. I'll take it! Although of course I don't think that I am getting enough calories so the scale isn't budging!! Ticking me off! I'll see what Dr Brader says about it next week too when I am out to see him for my 2 year check up.

I'm doing the same thing but I"M TRYING! I call it DETOX! hehehe I bit the bullet last week and went as cold turkey as possible back to the no carb days and eating as clean and as little as possible to stop the cravings and grazing. I'm drinking 1 to 2 profects a day as soon as those cravings start. I will say drinking the protein is really making a difference and it is killing my appetite for any/all foods. Maybe that is what's doing it for you too. Personally, I had to eliminate all the white stuff AND fruit; even an apple sets off a carb craving for me and I can eat 3 of them in a row before pouchie even notices. Not seeing the scale move yet but the alien in my stomach is very loud at inappropriate times. Perhaps we could take it out to a bar and have some fun with it! Hope you see that scale dip soon; you are certainly working your tool and deserve to!

1 choice @ a time > 1 day @ a time. Slow to Succeed is still Success ;-)
Heather other than right after my PS i have never really had no appetite. Even today it caught up with me eventually/
There is proof that clean eating causes diminished cravings and need for more food because your body is getting the nutrients it needs and not a bunch of crap. So it is satisfied and therefore does not need more.
I have been reading the clean eating magazine and trying to follow it and I always forget about food when I do. I eat and have a normal appetite, but I am not preoccupied. I know it is the frankenstein ingredients and carbs that cause the cravings and preoccupation with food
