Our trip!
Well we're home! And I'm glad to be here.
The trip was GREAT and even had some wow moments while there. On Friday we went to Kill Devil Hill where the wright brothers flew the first plane. On top of a HUGE hill is a monument which we walked up to in order to see the view and the actual monument. Everyone was going "OMG....this is such a huge climb...it's so steep...." and I was walking up going "it is??"
then a few hours later we went to this national park which is sand dunes. And I'm not talking like 2-3 food sand dunes...I'm talking like sarah desert sand dunes. So we went walking up one - and I walked right past everyone...got to the top of one...continued walking down it, to go up the next one and I started saying something to the "boys". When no one answered I looked around - I was all by myself. All of em were SITTING on the top of the second one. So I kind of looked at them and yelled "whattya doing?" My father yelled back "you are on your own on that one, kiddo" And so it was. I climbed to the top of the second one and down it...and then made my way back up and down the same two.
By the time we got back from that - everyone else laid down and took a nap from "soooo much exercise" in one day. Not me!
NONE of those things would have happened last year - let lone all in the same day. I actually got all emotional about it when I was by myself.
And then, of course, is my favorite "wow" moment which happens each and every time I go away - and each and every time I forget about it until it happens. I go into the hotel shower - I get out of the shower - grab a cheesy hotel towl and it wraps ALL the way around me. I mean - enough to tuck it into itself and cover all my little girl bits. There was a time a regular household bath towel didn't fit me - I always bought "bath sheets" to go around me. Let alone a hotel towel. And now they do!
Unfortunately today I woke up with a migraine/tension headache which has been almost overwhelming. I also have some potty issues (any change in routine does that to me regardless of the fact that my eating was pretty much on target with the exception of some extra carbs) So I have been pretty miserable today. Nothing like riding in a car for 8 hours with 3 other people with a migraine and a stool filled abdomen. blech. I have taken some meds now that I am home - will be taking a hot shower here...and then crawling into MY bed with MY pillows in MY room. I might even light a nice candle.
So...I will try to catch up on more posts tomorrow. To many of them now and I can't look at this monitor much longer with my head the way it is.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
Hey Pam.. Glad you made it home safe and (almost) sound. Seems like you had a great trip with the boys! That is so awesome about all the walking without all the whining--at least from you. LOL!!
And the hotel towels.. oh to imagine them fitting around me.
I,too, buy bath sheets just so I can wrap them around me. At home, I throw on my terry cloth robe and use that to cover up my ENTIRE body. I don't want to drag that bulky thing with me on trips, so I suffer with the crappy little towels they give you in hotels.. it's nice to know that one day they will fit around me!
Hope you feel better soon.. see you on the boards!

PAm so glad to hear that you had a great trip full of wow moments! I woke up around 1am saturday night and was wondering if you had made it home safe - glad that you did!
I too get all out of whack when my routine is interrupted, my bowels and my head. My migraines come when I don't get enough water or sleep which generally happens when I travel because I don't want to stop for the potty.
Glad that you are home and hope you are feeling better today!
