Motrin = Advil = Ibuprofin (all the same thing just different names)

You are not supposed to have either.

You could talk to Dr. Boe's nurse and see if you can take it with food and take some pepcid for a day or two as a precaution

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I had to be on one of the "don't take" meds for inflamation in my back for a while and Dr Boe had told me to take my pepcid and make sure that I ate with the meds. I tihnk that the real concern is that they are though on the pouchie.

Best of luck!

Thanks Liz.  I just spoke with the doctor and he said it was okay for me to take the Advil for one day...shouldn't be a problem.  So that's what I'll do.

I had this done in December in the ob/gyn office.  I wasn't prepared that the procedure itself would be uncomfortable.  It surprised me but mine only hurt during the procedure.  My ob/gyn said to take 2 motrin/advil 2 hrs before, then said take every 4 hours that day.  I took the first dose with breakfast but I really didn't have any lasting pain after the procedure itself.

Just last week, I did have to have a D&C and they did another biopsy at that time.  I had that done in the short procedure unit and was given some nice drugs (not general, just the whoosy kind).  I had cramping when I awoke - was giving morphine - didn't help - then a percoset (sp?) which totally relived.  Dr. gave me prescriptions for tylenol with codeine and for motrin.  I took 1 tylenol with codeine that night but didn't have to take anything else.  I've had a very, very minor discharge since but next day I was back to my 45 minute cardio work out and 15 min weight training.

104 lbs lost now Maintenance BABY!!!!

Eileen,
Cramping and bleeding afterwards.  Some worse than others. Definetly Motrin and not tylenol and if you have the sick time, take the afternoon off and relax with a cup of tea.  You deserve it!!!

Damn girl....I had to take a second look....and even then go onto your profile to make sure you were the right "Gail".  You look awesome.

Thanks for the advice.  I have unlimited sick time, so that's not a problem.  It's just this damn work ethic thing...I just can't help myself.
