NEW PA SUPPORT GROUP!!!
Hey Everyone,
I'm trying to find out how much interest there is in a new support group in the Philly suburbs.
You may know that there is a high incidence of alcoholism among post bariatic patience. I am NOT a professional counselor, I'm not an addictions expert and I DON"T have any experience with Alcoholism support. HOWEVER,
I do have experience as a WLS patient and I'm concerned about my ability to swap one addiction for another. Also, I'm pretty good at getting resources so I'm confident that I could get some people in to give some good and or professional advice from time to time.
What's more, I don't think there can possibly be too many support groups, especially specialized ones.
What do you think? If there is interest, I will flesh out the details of the group. One thing I do know is that you'll have to register since this one would be at my house. There is a website called meetup.com where you can organize events for people with similar issues. That's kind of the direction that I'm thinking about..
If you are concerned about your relationship with alcohol since after your surgery, I want to start a new support group. I need to know how much interest there is so Personal Message me, or post here if you want more info.
Thanks,
