Tom Smith
Linda,
Thanks for keeping Tom in your thoughts. From a personal standpoint, I'm actually doing fine. The memorial service was sad but, in a way, it was also kind of refreshing. Sharon is holding up FAR better than I ever would have expected and, after seeing all of the pictures that they showed of Tom and hearing all of the stories that people told, I really feel like I knew him much better and I know that he's truly in a better place. Strangely, I think that, in hindsight, the memorial service actually cheered me up.
Thanks again,
Mike

I would have to agree with Mike, it was a very well put together service and gave a great glimpse into Tom's life. I have planned and conducted memorial services myself and this was well done. Sharon seems to have known that this was a possibility and while you are never quite okay with a loved one's passing, I think she was somewhat prepared. I plan on keeping in touch with her and I will continue to let her know how much her family is cared for from the WLS community.
After losing a loved one myself recently and I think others here would agree with me, now is when the real grief begins. When friends and family go home and return to their "normal" lives. So I am sure that your thoughts and prayers, now more than ever would not go unnoticed.
Just my 2 cents.
Katie
