I used to love Macaroni Grill but there is NOTHING on their menu that is lo-cal, lo-fat or healthy - and we didn't eat there a lot, but even the few times we went you just knew you were consuming a weeks' worth of fat and calories in one meal!
Most of the foods on that list are a no-brainer, but you would expect a salad with seafood to be a tad healthier than the nachos or burgers, but its not to be...I've seen articles that a lot of cities are going to require restaurants to list the ingredients, calories, fat, proteins, etc, of their menus, but I know some restaurants won't give that info out because they say that since their meals are not pre-prepared there is no way to give accurate numbers - I think Carabba's is one of them - so that's probably one more place that's not WLS friendly, no matter what's on the menu.
Guess we're just safer eating at home where we control what goes into a dish.

This news is both amazing and not so amazing. Why? Well, I grew about 5 miles away from where Macaroni Grill started on the north side of San Antonio, Texas. And, if you've ever been to San Antonio, it will all make sense to you. San Antonio -- I love it -- but has absolutely the worst food for people's health.
Growing up Mexican-American, I had more than my fair share of enchiladas -- and that was the healthier plate because it came with lettuce and tomato and guacamole. Ha. Ha. Can you imagine that? When they serve you the "plato chingon" ("the big f**king plate") of three beef and cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, a beef taco, a bean and cheese chalupa, all you can eat tortillas and chips and salsa for only $6 (no lie) + a $1 for ice tea with Sweet Low (ha. ha.) -- who isn't going to make the wrong choices.
But, alongside the Mexican food there are way to many barbeque restaruants with starchy sides and then, you had places like Macaroni Grill racing to the one-up these places with monstrous portions of pasta, bread, and desserts. My go**** is no wonder why San Antonio is the most obese place in the USA (31% of the pop. is "obese") -- lot's of inexpensive and bad for you food. Add bad eating habits too that -- and you have a health epidemic on your hands.
