Curves

Has anyone tried Curves? I went to one of my local ones and I wasn't too impressed by the equipment, or the little old ladies working out there. Any feedback would be good, or other gym recommendations.

I wouldn't go to them... your body will adjust in about a month to the workout... you need to go to a real gym... where you can adjust the weights etc... I know a lot on here love planet fitness... I belong to Gold's Gym... Just find a gym that will meet your needs... like would you like water workouts more right now and then later more weights etc... do you want club that has workout classes/basketball courts/etc...

A lot of places right now will give you a free week... so test out a bunch of them... and have fun doing it...

Thanks! It honestly didn't look like a real gym.

Actually Curves is a real gym. The emphasis is on circuit training and getting cardio by getting your heart rate up and moving from machine to machine. The equipment was less then stellar but I heard most were upgrading.
Curves will work if you are motivated. There are many full service gyms that are pretty reasonable these days.

These are pics of the gym I owned in the 80`s. I bought all Nautilus.

Motivation is not an issue for me, but the quality of a workout is, and the equipment I saw at the Curves I went to is elementary at best.

What about the YMCA? not sure if you have a family or not but when I was working out there a lot of the mom's were there too. The kids would be off doing their thing and you can do yours. And most of the classes are included or very inexpensive.

best of luck finding one that works for you

no - it was when I was still living in Doylestown so it was the one down here. Didn't know we were in the presence of a celebrity! :)

Celebrity nope. It was from the 60`s I was part of a gymnastics team and there is supposed to be a pick of the 3 man balancing act in the hall there or something. Did you live in D`town long?

we lived in Doylestown for about 3 years, from when we got married in April 2005 until we bought the house in Easton in January of 2008. My husband lived in the area for years before that.
