in search of a support group in delaware OR chester county
Hi All -
I am getting ready to have RNY surgery in Maryland on Thursday (1/8/09) but I live in West Chester, PA. I am having surgery in Maryland because my family lives in MD and will be support during my recovery. I moved to Pennsylvania in 2007 for my job but I have not really gotten to know PA since most of my time is spent at work. Now that I am going through this life altering experience with RNY, I think its time to build some relationships, especially with those who have gone through bariatric surgery.
I am in search of a support group in Delaware or Chester county since I live and work in both. Any help is most appreciated. Thank you and happy new year!!

****Got pregnant in May 2011 but lost the baby in August 2011...Gained some weight so trying to get back on track...I hate PCOS.

My name is chris, and I would like to invite you to attend our support group, which is held the first Wed. of each month, 7 pm. We meet in the cafeteria at Phoenixville hospital. All are welcome, regardless of where you are in your weight loss journey, friends and family are also welcome to attend. Phoenixville is apx. 30 min. north of west chester. take route 202 north, get off at the exit for rt. 29 north, follow the very winding rt. 29 right into phoenixville. turn left at the traffic light of the intersection of 29 and rt. 23, which is called Nutt rd, when you are in town. Turn left into the parking lot of the front of the hospital. the cafeteria is on the ground floor to the left. I hope to see you.

Hi and welcome to the PA Boards - Debi McK has a monthly meeting for the Delaware Co area - not sure when her next one will be but she does post it on here with the date, directions, etc. And once a month there are two meetings at Barix in Langhorne that anyone is welcome to attend, and Crozer Hospital has one a month at Brinton Lake Medical Facility (which may be closest for you) - I've attended those and they're very good.- one of the ladies on here, Sandy, usually posts when that meeting will be, and its on a Saturday.
This is also an awesome source of support, so come here often with questions, concerns, support or just to vent if you need to.
