Thank you all for your replies, advice and welcomes. I feel like I have found a home for the first time since my surgery. I wish I would have known about this site before. I knew it was going to be hard but I didn't realize how hard and trying to talk to my family members about it (most of them have never had a weight problem and couldn't relate anyway). My own mother said to me "well you wanted to have the surgery, too later now". That wasn't a very nice thing to say. Sometimes I want to eat so bad I could scream and then when I do eat I am full but not satisfied. I would get depressed especially when I stop losing. But yesterday I bought the chocolate protein powder from Walmart and lost one pound in one day. That helped give me the boost I needed. I just didn't realize how much protein would fill  me up. Today we had people over to watch the football game (GO EAGLES) and I ate five Pringles chips. It was driving me crazy and I gave in to the temptation. Thats not the first time but before I beat myself up over it. I have to learn not to do that if I do give in. HOw do you get past the cravings and urges to eat things we shouldn't. The things that we aren't supposed to eat because they may you sick like pasta go down easy. I ate a forkful of mac and cheese last week and I was fine. I have a long road to go and I know I just have to be patient. But I know I now have people I can turn to for help. Thank you all again.

hello, I just wanted to mention something to all of us on the "run"  7/11 has crystal lite slurpees and they are good.  Something to grab instead of diet snapple or water for a change.

Sandy, your body is still healing give it some time and you'll be amazed.  wow chicken and fish? I don't think I did any of that til at least 2 months and I have been 6 months out and I cannot keep chicken down. I think you should go on the Barix website www.barixclinic.com and see if you can get some recipies from that and your protein powder from GNC I was never told it has to be spring water but your protein does count as liquid also.  Go on barix's site and you will see  alot of different options. We have support groups too.  267-516-3100 call and find out when they are we welcome  people no matter where they had their surgery done.  Its a very good support group. I do not know if you can buy your protein supplies from barix I don't want to misinform you but it can't hurt to call and ask.  If you want me to I can share a few protein drink recepies that are pretty good so send me an e-mail if you want. [email protected]. good luck and welcome to the world of weight loss.  Good luck.

Hi Sandy,

I am a few days late reading your post, but I just wanted to welcome you to OH and to the PA forum.  As I think you've already noticed, this is a great website and the folks on the PA board are absolutely wonderful.  Pam, Laureen, and many of the others have already given you excellent advice, suggestions and recipes.  Don't hesitate to ask any questions and hang in there.  None of this is easy, but I know you can do it!!!  Looking forward to following your journey with you and getting to know you better!

Lisa :)
