It's been a long while since i posted on the PA boards. First, Happy New Year to all!
I just recently moved to Broomall, PA and was wondering if there is anyone who lives here or nearby to be a support buddy. I've been at a stall for a long time and would love to have someone I can talk to possibly everyday to help me keep on track. I haven't gained but I'm not losing either. Just looking for some support. Thank you

Karen

Hi Karen,
I'm not that close to you but wanted to say Hi...My hubby goes to church in Broomall, about a 20 minute ride for him. We are closer to Delaware ( about a mile away) . There are lots of people from all over on this board. You may find someone close.

I don't think I live close to you considering I don't even recognize the name of the town...but wanted to say hello and welcome!!

Hi Pam,
Thank you. I live near Philly so I don't think I'm too close. Your welcome to keep in touch. I have made up my mind I'm going to make alot of changes in this new year.....eating, excercise, etc.

Sorry, not sure where Broomall is, but welcome to the PA board and if you are anywhere near Langhorne, PA or can get there, tomorrow is a support group meeting that begins at 12 noon, first half goes until 2 p.m., half hour break in between and then resumes until 4 p.m., we usually break down to various stages of WLS groups, but tomorrow's meeting is going to have a slightly different format due to the fact that we think it might be a lighter and usual turn out.  The meeting takes place at Barix Clinics in Langhorne, exit 44 off of 95.  You can look it up and get directions.  We also have meetings on the 2nd Wed, focus group then is pre-ops and 3rd Wed of the month is post-op meeting, these other meetings meet at 7 p.m. and generally run until 8:30, not open to just Barix patients.

There are also others who host support groups in their homes, so check the boards out regularly and you will find what you need.

Best wishes for 2009!

Laureen

Hi Laureen,
Thank you for the invite. Langhorne is about a 45 min. drive from here, longer counting traffic......since we moved down here I'm not that keen on driving too far, I'm originally from a small county and not used to all the fast pace and traffic here. I will keep the meetings in mind tho....I know things will go better this year, I just need to get back on the wagon....too many stressful changes last year.
Thanks again!
