I will be going out to an early dinner with my husband and another couple.  I am using this as my last splurge before I start my pre-op diet.  I am ordering exactly what I want and not thinking about how bad it is.  I may even get a drink-- and I don't usually do that due to the calories/sugar.  We were supposed to go to a casino night, but it got cancelled.  Oh well. this way we'll be in a lot earlier and won't have to worry about the crazies on the road.  The babysitter will be at the other couple's house with all of our children.  We will come home after dinner and I guess veg out in front of the T.V.  My guess is that my husband will fall asleep long before midnight.  I probably will, too. LOL!! That will leave just the 10 year old wide awake watching us sleep and the ball drop on TV. HA!! I always let her stay up on New Year's.  When we used to go to a friend's house, she was up until 1 or 2 AM and then slept half of the next day (the best part of the whole thing) When we are home or last year when she stayed over at the above friend's house, she was allowed to watch the ball drop and then had to go to bed.

Hope everyone has a great safe night and a happy and healthy New Year and New YOU!!!!!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Thanks Pam! I liked that pic of me, too - of course I can't see it on here yet - this whole board has been giving me a fit lately - guess lots of us on here the past few days because I keep getting some weird error message.

Sorry you have to work tonight - hope the ER isn't too full of boozers for you to have to tend to.

If Gene's mom is up to going out for Chinese we'll take her to dinner as usual, however, she has not been feeling well.
If she is not up to going to dinner then Gene & I will have Christmas leftovers and stay home. If it's cold enough we'll put the fireplace on and listen to music in the living room. If it's not cold enough for the fireplace we'll watch movies in the family room and hopefully we'll both be awake at midnight but that hasn't happened in a long time

Hey Kathy & Everyone,
I'm gonna take a chance and travel south to escape the Pocono snow & wind. Next stop Emmaus for Norm & Mary's where I'll party with some of my very dear friends. Enjoy the holiday and please make it a safe one and I'll see Everyone of you in the New Year!

Hi Kathy and everyone!

Kathy, I hope you had a great time with your friends and I hope the girls won Pictionary!  Sounds like a blast!

Adam and I stayed in on New Year's Eve.  We had just gotten back from Florida and we decided we would stay in and cook dinner together.  Nothing too exciting, but it was a relaxing, quiet evening at home.  Plus, it was snowing a lot, so we got to watch the snow and the dogs went out to play in it :)

Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year's!!!

Lisa :)
