Back from Florida with a major WOW moment
Hi PA!
Just got back from Florida and I have a major WOW moment to share :) I used to waterski when I was younger (started at age 10) and I got good enough to be able to ski on ONE ski! More recently though, all the extra weight made it very difficult to ski and after having a series of ankle injuries (unrelated to waterskiing), I had to give it up :( Anyway, it had been years since I had gone waterskiing and I decided to give it a try on Saturday in Florida. Not only was I able to ski, but I was able to get up on ONE ski again. Adam came in the boat and took pictures and I posted a few on my profile if anyone wants to have a look :) And keep in mind, it's not as easy as it may look ;) -- it took me an entire summer when I was younger to learn how to ski on one ski. I absolutely love waterskiing so I can't even begin to explain the amazing feeling I had on Saturday behind the boat. A few years ago, I thought I may not ever ski again. Although there have been so many wonderful moments along this journey, this was definitely one of the most incredible for me so far.
I thought I'd be able to check in on OH while I was in Florida, but bouncing between visiting with my family and visiting with Adam's family unfortunately left us with no time to get online. We did have a wonderful time though. I've missed you all and I will try to start tomorrow catching up on everything I've missed. Hope you all had a very happy Hanukkah and a very Merry Christmas. And I will return all PMs just as soon as I am able to as well.
Check out my pictures, if you get a chance!
Missed you all,
Lisa :)

First and foremost, welcome home!! Couldn't have brought some of that florida-its-warm-enough-to-water-ski weather with you for the rest of us???
Your post brought tears to my eyes. Not because I'm such a big water skiier (and you are right - it is sooooo hard!!! I never tried but my VERY athletic brother tried when we were a bit younger and even he had trouble - ALOT of trouble...and that was two skiis, not one!) but because I could truly feel how important this was to you and how wonderful it made you feel - and you deserve every single second of those moments!!
And thirdly....I see you are bout 10 pounds from goal? That ticker has been moving quite nicely there miss lisa!! Whoo hoo!!!
Congratulations on all your accomplishments and all your happiness in the recent months!!!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
Hi
Thank you for all the kind comments on my new photos. I am healing well. I've been back to the gym which felt great, but do need to modify workout. Tummy is still sore but sooooo much better. I'm still wearing binder garments and see the Dr. again on the 19th. I'll be teaching a course at Chestnut Hill starting next week.
Have a very Happy and Healthy New Year.
