i really should have learned already
This past weekend, I went shopping in Penns Square (across the street from Peddler's Village).
Geoffrey Beene was closing so they were 80% off. Last day was Sunday...
Anyway, I bought a whole bunch of clothes late...so I just bought them. I am wearing an XL shirt and 40" pants....I bought only 1 L shirt, and 38" pants to shrink into.
when I got home, I tried them on....they fit fine too....so that means these clothes will be too large pretty soon.
I guess I should have learned to try on my clothes.
But the WOW was worth it.

Steve,
I think many of us have done that! I bought clothes in a smaller size last year after Christmas at Lane Bryant. There was one skirt and a shirt that I didn't even get to wear because of not trying them on and they were to big to quick!!
Congrats!! It's an amazing journey!!
The wildest part of the ride for me is now being able to pick up clothes and NOT try them on. When I was fluffy - I always always always had to try things on because I never knew what styles would show of what rolls etc etc etc. Now, at least with the stores I frequent, I know what size I am and can fairly quickly just pick something off the rack, bring it home, and know it will fit AND look good. At least for jeans and such things. I still try on "dressier" clothes just in case. The only thing I have to watch is that I don't pay attention to how it looks on the hanger - because I still think things look to small. I HAVE to go by size. If I were to gauge which size I should buy by the way it looks, I would buy things to big still.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
Congrats on finding such a great sale and getting so much stuff - sux about the larger sizes but you might be able to get away with them for a little while - can you take them back? I did the same thing yesterday - bought some clothes and didn't try them on - they're all going back this weekend - sometimes I don't think we see how much our bodies are changing and still go for that 'comfort zone' of the bigger sizes.
Congrats - great WOW moment!
