my husband is disabled on a fixed income and takes his wallet to the bathroom at wal-mart and sits it on the counter walks out and forgets it.  the last of his money for 2 months.  he had his son's SS card in his wallet.  no one turned it in.  how can people be so dishonest?

Tis the season to rip people off!  That is aweful.  I never understood how people can take advantage of others and still be able to look themselves in the mirror.  But, there are plenty of dishonest people out there.  Make sure he takes the steps to contact he proper authorites about this, especially his son's SS card.  There is a risk of idenity theft.  I will keep my fingers crossed that it still gets returned!

I'm sorry that it happened to your hubby. I would call the SS office on Monday and let them know maybe they could put a hold on the number in case anyone tries to apply for credit.
I have to ask.....why didn't he leave it in his pocket ?   My hubby is also on SS and he uses credit cards and pays it at the end of the month. He doesn't keep much money in his pocket.
If he had credit cards I would call and cancel them as soon as possible.
I hope he gets his information back.

Wow, that's a shame.  I hope someone turns it in eventually.  Even if all the money is gone, at least you'll have the credit cards.  But be sure to have him call SS about the stolen card....a lot of damage can be done with that.
