Hi All,

My surgery date is January 8th  and I'm in the process of purchasing my vitamins and protein powders.  I just wanted to see if anyone knows of some places on the net or  in/around Philly to purchase the vitamins  and supplements at an ok price.    So far, the only place I've found on the net with halfway decent prices was vitalady.com.  But I would prefer a store where I could just pick them up myself without waiting for them to be shipped.  I know Walmart has the EAS myoplex protein powder that I've heard nothing but good things although it's all according to personal preferance.    Thanks for your help in advance.

First, congrats on your upcoming surgery!

Hubby and I use Celebrate Vitamins but I don't believe they're sold in stores. You can check out celebratevitamins.com and email them to see though. I know Centrum makes an adult chewable that many WLS patients use and are very happy with and they're sold at just about any pharmacy.

Protein powders are funny business. What I like may not necessarily be what you like so it tends to be hit or miss AND what you like now as a pre-op may not be what you like as a post-op. Many people complain that they're tastes change after surgery. My advice would be to purchase either samples if at all possible or the smallest container you can until after surgery when you know exactly which ones you will enjoy because afterall, the more you like the taste of it, the more likely you'll be to use it....I personally like Muscle Milk Light but mixed with milk no****er. I get it from GNC and I always get a good deal because they put them on clearance for $10 or less when they come within 3 months of the expiration date. This is never a problem for me because I always finish it up well before then. I actually paid $8.50 once! WOOOO HOO! I also like buying from GNC because they're return policy is great! If you get the protein home and don't like it, just bring it back with your receipt and they will refund your money. Great for when you're trying out new protein powders.

Good luck to you!!

I order all my vitamins from Celebrate.  The only protein  powders that I found I handle really well, like a lot and are full of vitamins and essential fatty acids are all of the Chike! powders.  Also available through Celebrate.

Is there something wrong with me?  I must be the odd  ball out, I do not use any protein drinks now that I am way out from surgery date, I did first few months but not since then.  I eat my protein or nothing at all and once ina while my daughter and I use protein bars from Kashi and south beach bu****ch the sugars can be high in some of them.

About to enjoy the first day of the rest of my life!
