OT: Garry won the strikepot.....sorry, but glad I missed the meeting

I had written to Dennis when he posted about the Barix meeting that I wasn't going to be able to attend. Tonight was our bowling Christmas party and our strike jackpot was going to be over $1,000. I had a very, very strong feeling that something good was going to happen the other day. That's why I decided not to go to the meeting tonight.
And something good for sure happened....Garry's ticket got pulled. This means that on his next bowling turn he would have to bowl a strike. Well, he got up there shaking in his boots, everybody screaming and yelling, the ball went left of the pocket and hit on the Jersey side for a strike!!!! WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! $1,202. OMG!!!!! I was jumping up and down like I never jumped before.
So, Shilpa, I believe in Santa Clause too, girlfriend!!!! We shared some of our winnings with the team that sold the tickets tonight, the two other people that bowl on our team, and the manager of the bowling alley who picked Garry's ticket!!!! It felt good to give some away!!!!

Go Karen, Go Karen!! OMG that is freaking unbelievable. We missed you at the meeting but there were very few people there Christmas now less than a week ago a lot of people skipped this one. I am so glad that you shared your winning somebody told me that a lot of people give when the times are good but not a lot of people give when times are bad when its more important to give in the bad times. I have learned that this year and will always try to remember that. Can't wait to catch up with you the next time. Happy Holidays!

The fact that you shared your winnings with other people is fantastic. With the economy being as bad as it is, people being out of work and everyone struggling with their finances right now, not many people would be as generous as you were. It just shows that there are still some good people left in this world.
