Hoagie Dip
1/4 lb. Ham
1/4 lb. Italian Salami
1/4 lb. Beef Bologna
1/4 lb. Slicing Pepperoni
1/4 lb. American Cheese
1/4 lb. Provolone Cheese
Two or three tomatoes, depending on size
1 Head lettuce
1 Onion
Mayo
Salt
Pepper
Oregano

Cut all lunchmeats and cheeses into small squares.  You can cut several pieces of the meat at one time, but I always do the cheeses one at a time because they stick together.

Dice all other ingredients.  Mix all together with Mayo and spices.  I'm sorry, I just do it by taste and look - I don't have exact amounts (that's the Italian in me).

I usually buy two large loaves of good Italian bread, cube it, and serve.  The men especially like this dip.  You will have many requests for the recipe....I guarantee it.

Enjoy!

Crock pot meatballs are always easy and a hit. (with gravy or speghetti sauce)

I like to make hotdogs (sliced about 1 inch or so) and wrap a slice of bacon around and bake till bacon is crisp. I put a toothpick in them while I cook them and them leave them in. People love these things and they are good at room temp for a few hours.

Pinwheels-------you can make these any flavor you want. You take crescent rolls and use 2 triangles to make a rectangle and pinch the two together. Add any ingredient you want to the flat dough.

Ex. pizza sauce and pepperoni
ham and cheese
roast beef and provolone
Etc.

roll these up, stick in freezer for a little so it firms for easy slicing. Slice these into small circles and bake about 6-8 minutes, depending on your oven. These are great little snacks and are good at room temp, do not have to be fresh out of the oven. I make many of these in advance and store in air tight container till the day I need them, then display on a plate.

Pillsbury.com has some great ideas for appetizers that are yummy and easy to make.

Ok, I need to get back to work now............LOL

I like that 5 Layer Dip-- I used to make it hot, but I see that now they do it cold too (probably always did, I just never noticed lol)... the one that starts with taco meat, then there's cheese, refried beans, guacamole,  and sour cream... have also put on other 'taco' fixins-- lettuce, tomato, etc... then use a tortilla chip for dipping. Yummy!

Have not had this post-surgery, and I don't know whether you or the others would like this, but my favorite pre-op was: baked brie with jam.  Basically, you get a circular brie, slice it in half so there is a top and a bottom.  Then spread a thick layer of jam (I really like peach, but any kind will work) on the bottom half and put the top layer back on.  Bake this in the oven at 350 until the cheese starts to melt.  When you take it out to cut into slices, the cheese should be very soft and easy to cut.  Serve with crispy bread or crackers...yummy!
