It's the day before the holiday. I know a few people in the corporate world who generally get to leave early the day before a holiday. I'm not sure what your new job entails - but probationary period aside - I think it would be ok if you asked. Make it clear that you don't want them to think this will be a continuing pattern and if you are needed at your job that is fine and completely understood. The worse that happens is that they say no.

PS: As far as the EKG changes....a few options here. One is that her first one wasn't done properly or there was to much "artifact" which is just nonsense wave forms due to something touching the wires, movement of the patient (including shaking or what not) The other is that whatever was developing resolved and that's a good thing. If you want to - get the CK and Troponin lab values. Generally there are repeat sets...done anywhere from 6 to 12 hours a part. If you want to get those numbers I can explain them to you. Or anything else they say. Let me know if I can do anything.
