OT - Major WOW Moment
As most of you know - I havent really posted much in months as my work schedule has really kept me flyin (literally...lol). But I am 'grounded' for a few weeks as my client has allowed me to work from home which is a really good thing.
Recently I found a new gym in Feasterville. B&R. It has everything - classes, full gym, huge pools, martial arts - its a really great place. Its my second home now. When I signed up (still have and use my Planet Fitness membership) I also signed up the kids. The boys are taking Mixed Marital Arts and I 'thought' that the pool would be something for Stella to use 4 - 5 times a week.
Well last week - she wanted to come into the gym with me and 'work out'. I took her to the track first (its suspended so less impact and really kewl). I told her that I wanted to run out 4 - 6 miles before I did any core stuff. I told her that she could walk and I would run then we both would be warmed up. Well she walked about 5 laps then stopped me. She asked if she could RUN with me. I looked at her and asked if she could and she said - lets try. AND WE DID!!!
Together we ran the next 1.5 to 2 miles. It wasnt a little pansy run either - it was a good hard run. I had to slow down because the tears were just flooding down my face. I couldnt believe this was happening. To think that less than 9 months ago - she was so riddled with pain - unable to bear any weight - fully in a wheelchair and 11 months ago - she was in as much pain and I was 165 pound heavier...to this. RUNNING together. We hugged - walked the next 2 miles and then ran the last 2 again.
She has also signed up for a mixed martial arts class with her younger brothers and is doing so well. She goes to the gym with me now at least 4 times a week (we run every time) and is more motivated than ever. I wanted to share this with my friends here as its really really a huge step forward.

Nothing off topic about that incredible wow moment, Kim! It totally fits in with our message and what we're all doing! I'm so glad I got to meet you at the Saturday Barix meeting - you've had an incredible journey! I'm so happy for you and your daughter - that was definitely a moment to be savored for a long, long time.
