Excited As The Dickens
Ok, I love this board. I read all of the posts and the replies. I think this is what the world is supposed to be with people believing they can make a difference. All the support and love I see is amazing. I was scared. Now I am excited to start this challenge and transform.
I am going in in mid November and I will be asking advice and tips and everything in the world. And I have a feeling all of you glorious losers will share with me your wealth of knowledge. I am not afraid. Well maybe a little, but not so much anymore. Thank-you!!! ( My mother always used the phrase "like the Dickens" for everything and I thought for the longest time that they were a real family in the neighborhood ( and they were fast and fun and crazy and scared and excited and anything else my mom would say, how funny is that?) Now I use it all the time. So let's hope I lose like the Dickens.

Welcome to the PA Boards and a fantastic place to be! The people out here are amazing and will offer encouragement when needed, or a good kick in the 'dickens' if that's needed as well!! LOL!! But you won't find better people anywhere, and as you go through your journey we will all be here to support you and help you along.
Dr. Boe was my surgeon as well and I love him! Everybody at Barix is top-notch - they make you feel so 'normal'. I'll be up there in late November for my 9 month follow-up with Dr Boe - maybe I'll see you then.
In the meantime, best of luck with everything, and we'll save you a spot on the loser's bench!!

LOL....your story about the "dickens" made me laugh!! Bill cosby had a routine very similar to that...
Anyway - glad you like it here already and glad you have been reading up on us :) Even happier that you've decided to jump on in and join us!! We are a ridiculously close knit group of people who are here to help in bad times, celebrate in good times, and just be around for all the other boring stuff like laundry and dishes.
If you have any specific questions don't hesitate to ask!! You're sure to get a response from someone!
Welcome welcome welcome!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
