Silly question....
I use sf mints all the time. Things like tic tacs and what not (which are not sugar free but have very little sugar in them) are smaller than an M&M so even if you do swallow it - no harm no foul. I've been told gum is a no no. One, because if you swallow it you could run into some really big trouble and two because it can cause you to swallow air which would be uncomfortable. That being said, I would be lying to you if I said I have never had a piece in a pinch. I made sure I was careful but am still afraid of it.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I am a rebel I do chew gum when I feel that heavy breath feeling ...I use Altoids sugar free gum but only chew it about 5-10 minutes because it hurts my jaw even before surgery I was not a big gum chewer. I also use ice breakers sugar free mints (the ice tea flavors are yummy) and breath savers sugar free.
