NOVEMBER Support Group / Cooking Class Update
Well by popular demand we will be having the support group / cooking class at my house Saturday November 8th - noon until ????
This month we will be focusing on making healthier versions of Thanksgiving favorites! If you have a Thanksgiving favorite you would like re-worked let me know and we'll come up with something (even if you can't attend I'll post the recipe).
To help offset the costs a bit we are asking for a small donation of either an ingredient, beverage etc.
Hope to see some more of you November 8th! We had a great time with the last one and look forward to doing it again!

What about a glaze of some sort that would be good on either turkey or ham (ham for the other upcoming holidays...)
I make a twice baked potatow/ cheese that I could bring the recipie and ingredients for as well.....

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
sounds good to me Pam! If I make mashed potatoes anymore I make them with Ricotta - no one can tell and it adds some protein!
Here is what we came up with on saturday for next month:
homemade sugar free cranberry sauce. The jellied kind, I am going to experiment with this one
s/f pumpkin pie (courtesy of Shauna)
chicken meatballs (Susan is going to help with this recipe - she makes them all the time)
a healthier alternative to stuffing - I am going to work on this one, something with whole grains and very little bread (Also vegetarian for Shauna)
I will work on a good glaze too Pam.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Perhaps for the stuffing using some Kashi? I know people have used it in meatloaf before w/ good results....I am not "playing" in my kitchen to much these days as most of my "nonessential" items are in boxes already....

What about an old favorite of mine? Candied Sweet potatoes or yams? Any ideas there? Or are they a taboo food? I won't be able to attend, as I have dinner and a play with friends that night, but will look for the yummy recipes. . .
