Hi Liz,
I hope you get some relief from the pain in your abdomen.  Could it be gas, or digestive related, or is it definitely surgery related?  Just pondering is all.

Good luck.

Hugs,
Trish

Not Sure Trish - I woke up with it after my gall bladder surgery. It is a "tightness" or pulling and burning in the lower left side of my belly (on a 45 degree angle towards my hip from my belly button). Almost felt like a pulled muscle for the first week and a half. When I followed up with the surgeon he basically told me that he didn't know exactly what it was but that it was more then likely surgery related from the gas they pump in there or where the incision in my belly button is. But that if it was better in about 2-3 weeks from the day of my appointmen (which was the 1st) to call back and let him know. Now it is about 85% better then it was - last night it was just really bothering me. I bent over to pick up my kitty - she only weighs about 10 pounds and it was real bad. This morning it is better but who knows!

Thanks for asking!

I hope that you are feeling better soon! We sure have been put through the ringer lately haven't we!? It's time to be healthy again!

Good morning everyone,
Just another fun day for me, nothing unusual. At work, since the governor still has a new hire freeze on all positions, I'm doing two different jobs. I'm at my old position for the director in the morning, then in the afternoon, I'm downstairs at my real job. I didn't get a raise with the job, nor will I even though I'm doing the job of two people. Doesn't seem fair, but it is what it is.
Tonight I'm just going to hang out at home. I was going to go through all my clothes again and get rid of what I no longer wear, but I'm not sure if I will or not. I've been having this pain on my right side and back, making it difficult to get up and down or to bend over and pick things up. So I may just get some more rest tonight and see how I feel tomorrow. If it's not better by tomorrow, I'll be calling the doctor again.
I'm not a baseball fan, but for all the Phillies fans, I hope they win tonight.
Have a good day

Good morning everybody - today finds me at work - no big deal. Just another day. But at lunch time I am meeting one of my best friends who moved out to Yuma over a year ago and I haven't seen her since, so I'll be anxious to see how she reacts to my weight loss and 'new' body. She has been 100% supportive, even attending the initial consultation with me at Barix - I've lost almost 140 pounds since she last saw me, so it should be exciting.

Today my sister and brother-in-law are flying in from Florida -hubby is picking them up at PHL this morning. I haven't seen them since April - this is my non-supportive sister - the one I was always 'fat' with and even tho she tries to be supportive she always ends up throwing out negative and snide remarks about my weight loss, eating habits, etc. So I'm not sure how excited I am to see her - but I'll only be around her for a little while - and honestly don't you know I've been tracking my food this week and eating more carbs and crap than normal. yes, its definitely stress...

So that's my day in a nutshell - will definitely be watching the Phillies tonight and cheering them on!!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Kathy

Hello All,

I've been "out of pocket" (what a weird thing to say) for a while.  Family stuff and what not but I'm back to the boards finally.  I didn't make it to the OH event and I'm disappointed by that but had to put the family stuff first.

My new class started and it's another kicker.  Sigh.  International Law.  Yeah.  Okay, like I REALLY care about Internationa Law.  I do but I don't, you know what I mean?  Oh well, it will be my focus for a while.  LOL.  I'll be SOOOO glad when I am done with this program.

Today finds me back to work after M-W out.  So lots of email and work to catch up on but busy is good, I prefer it.  However, status is quo is doing more with less.  ROFL.  Okay then.  After work lots of reading, studying and online class.  Then to bed!

I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Hi all,

I had my six week follow-up with Dr. Pupkova yesterday.  That went very well, she's very happy with my progress, and I of course am happy too!  I feel so positive and inspired after seeing her.  I wish I could see her every week!  The bad news is that she wants me to go see a gastroenterologist because I've been getting agita (heartburn) constantly since surgery and the Pepcid isn't making it go away, so she wants me checked for an ulcer.  I had to take Prilosec daily before surgery, so this isn't a total shock, but I never went to a gastro about it.  Hopefully this will be pretty painless.

Today I'm at work and feeling very happy that I have a three day weekend coming up.  My yoga class is cancelled tonight because of Yom Kippur, so instead I'll go to the gym for some cadio and strength training.  I'm trying to hate the strength training less, but so far I still really hate it.  I figured that first I could work on hating it less, then I could work on trying to actually like it!

Have a good day everyone,
Lesley

Lesley,
I have been seeing gastroenterologists for years now.  The test for ulcers is something you sleep through.  No problem at all with it.

Hugs,
Trish

Thanks Trish!  Is that the endoscope test?  In that case, I'm not too worried.  And hey, it'll be a free day off from work!  I think I had GERD for a few years before surgery so I'm not too surprised that I still have pain from it, but I hope the cure is something simple like taking Prevacid for a few months, and avoiding irritating food.

Thanks for the info; I appreciate it!
