My daughter
Dennis,
As someone who has been married to a person with this disorder, as well as having friends through the years with it, I know how hard it is to watch someone you care about struggle through these setbacks. . . my prayers are with you and Elisa for a speedy rebound from her illness, sometimes it's as simple as readjusting meds and hopefully that is what she needs to get back to being her happier, productive self and as other's have said, she is blessed to have the support of you and you, dear friend, have the support of all of us!!!
Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Dennis, it breaks my heart to think of the struggles you and your daughter are going through. Elisa is very lucky to have you for a Dad. You are one of the most compassionate, loving men I have ever met. I will be thinking of you and your daughter in the days ahead and hope and pray that the two of you will find the strength to battle this devastating illness. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
oh dennis...i am thinking of you. my mom is diagnosed with the same and i know how VERY difficult it is as i am pretty much responsibile for her.
on a brighter note...i too graduated from kutztown!so that made me smile.

Dennis,
All three of my children at one point or another in their teens, were diagnosed with depression. All three were diagnosed after my daughter was raped by someone we had considered a friend. With lots of therapy, the doctors insisted they would all get better in time. The boys have, my daughter, in my opinion, has not. Some days are better then others, some days she hides the pain, others it's front and center of the day. She was finally put back on meds and we are noticing some difference.
Anytime I hear or read of another going thru the pain of a family member being diagnosed with depression and/or bi-polar, my heart breaks and I wish I could reach out and hug that family. It doesn't just effect the one who is diagnosed, it effects the whole family. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers through this rough time. Also, make sure, as I'm sure you already know, you are taking care of yourself. As hard as it is as a parent to watch your child, regardless of thier age, go through something like this, you have to take care of yourself as well.
Keep us posted, hugs to you my friend.
