NSA Peanut Butter

Today at the OH event, a bunch of us spoke about lower sugar peanut butter. Most spoke about lower sugar Jiff (Simply Jiff), and I agreed that was also the product I use.  I was mistaken.  I actually use Peter Pan "no sugar added" in the creamy variety.  Here are the stats;

Fat 18 grams
     sat 3 grams
     trans 0 grams
Cholesterol 0 grams
Sodium 150 grams
Total Carbs 4 grams
     dietary fiber 1 gram
     sugars 2 grams
Protein 9 grams

Per 2 tbsp (32g)

Not sure how this measures up to Jiff.

PS-I had a great time seeing allof my PA buddies and want to remind you all that the PA Pilgrimage Board of Directors is HARD at work planning the Spring 09 PA Pilgrimage!  Look for info on the moking reservations for the event in the coming months.

Thanks Shauna.
I've only had peanut butter once since surgery and I wasn't happy with the no sugar added/all natural" brand I purchased.

I will try the Peter Pan or the Jif (my favorite PB) and then try the peanut butter from the event.

And it was great seeing you.  You, Ramon, Dennis and a few others are my inspiration.
And I am going to take you up on the shopping trip....I hate shopping and I always buy clothes that are still too big.
Just let me know lol

OK.  So I did my own quick research.  It turns out that the the Simply Jif and the NSA Peter Pan are essentially a wash.  You get two more fats and an extra 10 calories in the Peter Pan and one more protein in the Jif.  Here's the SImply Jif nutritional info;

Thanks for the info shauna.  I have not been able to find no sugar added PB in this area except for the natural ones which I am not real fond of.  Maybe I'll be able to find some in pa by me!

If you are planning on coming to barix this wed (I don't know your work schedule...) can you bring me a jar and I'll give you the $$ for it?

Sure!  Assuming no issues with changes in my work schedule, I will bring a jar!

Shauna,
The peanut butter I use is Smuckers Natural.  The only ingredients are peanuts and salt.  It has 2 grams of sugar, I don't know where they come from.  It has to be stirred, as the oil is on top.  I like it better than the other brands.

Unfortunately, I spent half of Friday night at the emergency room with my asthma and was unable to wake up in time to attend the OH event much less participate.  I am bummed, but such is life.  I will PM you later about what is happening with me.  Thanks for thinking of me.

Hugs,
Trish

Thanks for the info. Shauna.  I am a Simply Jif girl, but I must be honest, it took a long time to get used to this rather than the regular Jif.  I really enjoyed spending time with you Saturday striking poses and making a fool out of ourselves.  See you soon!!!!
