It used to be...
It used to be I had certain outfits I would wear that would make me feel like I "looked good" You know - that special pair of jeans...that nice top....only could be worn with those shoes and that jewlery....and of course HAD to have make up on or else....well....I just wasn't happy with myself. And truth be told, even in those outfits, I was still self conscious.
Well tonight we decided to go out to dinner spur of the moment. I took a shower, grabbed a pair of jeans and top, put some gel in my hair and left it down, and put some powder and blush on (no concealer or anything....), my sneakers, and left.
While walking past a full length mirror when out to dinner I did a double take. This was just a regular "whatever" outfit. Nothing planned or coordinated....just "was"
And ya know what....
I looked good. Real good.
Conceited, maybe.... but was astounded I could feel that way about myself in something that was just a knock around outfit. And it dawned on me...
It's not the outfit. It's me.
Cool moment!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
Pam,
Our beauty comes from who we are, not what we wear. Unfortunately, our society has brainwashed us into thinking the reverse. Good for you for seeing your true beauty.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Conceited?? Not in a million years, cookie! You've worked damn hard to get your health and your body in shape and you deserve to be able to enjoy it from both prespectives without feeling conceited!! Enjoy your accomplishments - enjoy wearing your clothes and looking and feeling good in them - we all think you look FANTASTIC, so why shouldn't you?!
