WOW moments at school
Congratulations on your wow moments. It's nice to be noticed for good reasons, isn't it? :)
I understand your desire to keep things close to your chest. It is personal.
But if they don't know now, they will soon. I'm guessing some of them do, and were just being polite. WLS is so prolific at this point, that I've found ANY significant weight loss is followed by the (often correct) assumption that surgical intervention was involved. And if they're not talking about it to your face, they're doing it behind your back.
I chose to answer honestly anybody who would ask me. That was the choice I made a long time ago. Fast forward a few years ago, and my decision was reinforced when that disingenious troll Star Jones wouldn't cop to her surgery for 18 months. She just looked like an asshole and everybody and their freaking brother KNEW she had surgery. All I would caution you is to not let it get to the point where people are going to feel like you're insulting their intelligence by skirting the subject. The truth is liberating.
Best wishes for continued success!

Norm - I am honored you took the time to reply
As most of your posts, you've provided me with some healthy food for thought. Thank God I'm not in the public spot light like those celebrities. Perhaps when I become CEO of XYZ corporation I'll let it be known then - in my autobiography, Until then it's hard work and
I look forward to meeting in person, formally, at one of the Barix meetings.

congrats on your great success with the weight loss Greg! You're looking svelt!
As for me, I just tell pretty much everyone...ok well everyone that as Norm mentioned above I have regular contact with. I'm amazed how supportive everyone is (to my face at least) and quite honestly they are just really curious abotu the whole process. some of them were even texting me while i was in pre-op asking if they could bring me a pizza while I waited (my surgery was delayed a few hours) To some that might be sick humor, but to me it was exactly what I needed to break the tension. So in reality my co-workers have been some of my greatest supporters.
Currently my co-workers (about 15 of them) are in the "what can you eat???" stage with me. They are mystified by the whole process.
On the other hand we have a woman here who has lost 100lbs in less than 10 months and she SWEARS it's diet and exercise. I half believe her, but the other half thinks she's full of CHIT. Who knows.
In the end we all handle it the way we want and I don't think there is a right or wrong way.
Again, congrats!

That's wonderful, Greg!!!! Congratulations. You have done an incredible job. I told you on Wednesday that you were looking good. I could totally tell.
Sorry for being late with this post. My computer is on the fritz again. Just wanted to say congrats. And I love your explanation. To the point without really telling the whole story. And if that works for you, then that is awesome!!!
Keep up the great job you're doing. You'll be at goal before you know it!!!
