Good Tuesday!!

Hey guys!!! I've been away from my PC for a while.. a few days.. but finally found the time to check in again!  My hip is doing better...believe it or not, I think riding my motorcycle helps!  I feel better after riding..  Last night was a bad night for me. There are times when I just miss my son so much, that I cry myself to sleep. Usually I can manage, but sometimes I just fall apart... that was last night.
Then, my DH tells me today that one of our son's best friends who just got married and is expecting their first child, wants to name that child after our son if it's a boy!  I'm so happy to know that we are not the only ones who miss him.
I've gained back a few of the pounds that I had lost, being that I could barely move for 3 weeks, and then...well, my intake suffered!  My fault, but hopefully I'll be back on track and losing again very quickly!
OK.. now that I've unloaded on all of you.... I am hoping to attend the OH event in Philly, but since I may be coming alone... could really use a "buddy" to meet up with!  I am not a good person for going into public places by myself. I still have to get my ticket and reserve a room.

Blanche, reading your post made me laugh and cry.  What an amazing mom and woman you are - I don't know how you do it.  I'm glad the motorcycle riding is helping your hip (LOL), it just struck me as a funny thing to be "helping" but it's great.  I'm so sorry for your loss and that you had a tough night.  What a beautiful gift from your son's best friend - he'll always be remembered in such a loving way.

I know you'll be back on track and losing quickly because you are so strong!  I have not bought my tickets yet but will be doing so tomorrow.  I would love to meet and say hi - I'm sure there's lots of folks who will post about being a "buddy" but I would love to connect with you at the event.

Keri..   That would be great!  If you send me an email, I'll give you my cell # and we can meet somewhere!!  I plan on checking in early on Friday so I can enjoy the hotel some!  The drive home after a long day on Saturday is going to be a pain, but I'll manage!!.. Maybe I'll hop down to DE and spend the night with friends there!

Blanche,

Glad to hear you are doing well - I hope the hip continues to heal.  And as far as the pounds lost/gained - you'll be back on track in no time.

I think you are definately entitled to have bad nights - losing a child is beyond words - and having a bad night is ok when you are otherwise living life and remembering your son in a productive manner, which you are.

Glad to see you again!  I'm not attending the philly event but there are a bunch of people going, I'm sure you won't have trouble meeting up with a buddy.

And hey - you are not going to a "public" event - you are going to meet up with some really great friends - who right now have only appeared in 2D!!

Hi Blanche,
Glad to have you back.  I am attending the OH Philly event, but will only be there Saturday, as I live in the area and can commute to it easily.  I would love to hook up with you and hang out together though.  I will PM you my cell, if you would like to meet.

Hang in there.  The thing I am learning about myself, my recovery and my life in general is there are good days and bad days, but the worst day is the day I don't get back on the horse and keep trying.

Hugs,
Trish

Welcome back!! You weren't gone that long but you were missed. I can't even begin to imagine your pain at losing your son, so God knows you're entitled to crying jags on occasion. As for the weight, well you know what to do and how to get it back off, and it came on fast so it should go off fast.

I won't be attending the OH event, unfortunately - it is my husband's 70th birthday, so we're having a little celebration for him at home.

Take care - happy to have you back and that the hip is feeling better!

Kathy
