One year ago today I had just came out of recovery after having surgery with Doc. Boe... and here are some other bits of news...

I was wearing a size 30/32 pants and a 30 shirt.

Today I can fit into a pair of 20 or 22 pants (but depending on the cut I am still in some 24 as well) and wear 18/20 shirt some 22s.

1 year ago I weighed 341 but after a clear liguid deit I dropped 15 pounds so the day of surgery I weighed 326.

Today I weigh 222.  I have lost 118 pounds in a year.

A little over a year ago I could have anything I wanted to eat.

As of today- I have been completely sugar free for a year.  And don't really miss it either.

This time last year all I could do for exercise was water workouts.

As of today I can do yoga, pilates, leg press over 200 pounds again, well here is what I do for normal workouts now: (PS- in the process of changing all of this up)
10 min warm up of stretching
10 min warm up on the treadmill
1 hour of lifting: 4 different machines for abs (this is done every time)-
Ab bench- with slight slant- 10 pounds
Abdominal- 70 pounds
Torso rotation
Can’t find the name of this machine… but you sit at it- facing a padded bar and press it down- 35 pounds
Sit ups on the balance ball- sets of 20- 3 total sets

These things are done on different days (btw- most of the weight machines are Cybex):
Leg presses- 110 pounds
Leg extensions- 50 pounds
Rotary calf- 50 pounds
Seated leg curl- 30
Prone leg curl- 30
Standing calf- 50
Hip ab- 50
Hip ad- 50
Chess press- 50
Incline press- 35
Overhead press- 35
Pulldown- 60
Incline pull- 30 to 60
Row- 60
Back extension- 70

Cardio-
10 to 15 mins on the http://www.precor.com/cons/en/efx/517i/ precore machine - keeping mets at 7+
10 to 15 mins on the treadmill going about 3 speed wise
10 mins on the bike- I just ride it lol
10 mins on the http://www.cybexintl.com/products/cardio/630A/intro.aspx arch machine - keeping mets at 8+

Ok that is 60 inches lost so far… and get this 10 inches off the boobs and still no change in cup size… what the heck lol… but that is 6.25 inches lost in about 3 weeks… 3 weeks I have had a trainer… below are the new areas I am going to start to measure…

So far I have lost 9.5 inches since I last measured.  Year to date- I have lost 81.5 inches total.  In one year I have lost:
12.25 inches off my bust
13.25 off my waist
16.5 off my abs
13.75 off my hips
12 off my left thigh
6.25 off my left upper arm

In one way I am happy where I am at... in another I'm not happy at all.  I stalled 17 weeks of my first year, I have a feeling that will get worse.  I am also dealing with a ton of itching and little rashes all the time (yes I am documenting them), but my PCP doesn't want to deal with me anymore since my surgery.  I am still hunting for a new one, but it is hard because of our new insurance- they only cover a few docs... I also never thought that my grocery bill would go up $200 bucks extra month (yes some of that is the cost of gas- most of it isn't though)... this last year has been very much and up and down year.  So, there are lot of things I am still dealing with because of that- I hate it when I don't make basic goals etc...

But, I am off to find some clothes... Having the issue of between sizes for a lot of things so it is hard to find something nice to wear to work- don't care when I'm just around the house or friends lol... and today I am feeling very saggy... but off to get my butt dressed... I'm sitting around here in just the basics if you get the idea lol...

Good for you Shannon.  This is a journey, not a race...and with that journey will come some bumps in the road for all of us.  I know what it's like to stall, but if you stay the course, you will keep successing!  Congratulations on your one year!!!!

Congratulations on your successing this past year.  I can appreciate the frustration of stalls.  I have been there a lot.

Just keep doing what you are doing, and you will keep seeing the results.

Trish

Hi Shannon - I know you get discouraged sometimes with your stalls but oh my gosh you have done so amazingly well in one year - what a fantastic way to see how far you've come and how much better you feel and your health it. Stalls can be so frusrrating because we immediately think of past diet failures, but the big difference this time is this amazing tool we have and all we have to do is work with it and the stalls will be broken and the weight will continue to come off.

I'm so happy for you!! This is an incredible post and it shows how wonderful this tool is and what we can do with it.

Keep up the fantastic work!!

Kathy
