Starbucks Vivanno?
OK, these are too good to be true (so I am assuming they are)
I am now on day #4 of my "self-inflicted" full iquid diet. I am doind amazingly well and feel awesome. I have had for the past 3 days one of Starbucks new Vivanno smoothies as a meal replacement when i was on the run. The one I've tried is the Chocolate Banana (they also have Mango Orange)
They say they have 28g of sugar, but sugar is not listed in the ingredients....I THINK the rule post-op is 5g or more if sugar is in the first 5 ingredients you can't eat it. But the ingredients don't mention sugar specifically.
Any of you experts know if this is a NO NO post op?
Here are the ingredients and NUT facts:
Freshly prepared with a whole banana, bittersweet cocoa, 2% milk and our own proprietary whey protein & fiber powder and ice.

This would be OK post op as long as the sugar is not added sugar. There are sugas in milk and in fruit that would show up in the total, if you read the ingredients and there isn't sugar, high fructose corn syrup, or anything like that it should be fine. Of course some people don't tolerate that high of sugar even naturally. I am fine with sugars from milk and fruit.
Sounds yummy I'll have to try one, at home of course just in case!
Good luck with the diet!

Liz, you are correct. The sugar comes from the milk and the fruit. I stick with the Orange Mango Banana variety to stay away from the chocolate. I ask them to make it with skim milk and tell them not to be "bashful" about adding a little extra AnyWhey. It is a delicious protein-packed snack/beverage that is all natural and doesn't hurt me a bit. Anne Ryan turned me on to them and I absolutely love them!
I had a friend who got the Orange Mango Banana one and I took one small sip and was sick within 20 minutes....even though it's natural sugar. It just goes to show you that not everyone is the same. I would agree with Nicole though, might be ok now, but probably not worth it after surgery. Just my 2 cents.
