I froze how much corn
Hi everyone, I spent my weekend freezing corn to enjoy this winter. My DH forgot to ask me when I wanted the corn just went out and bought it and brought it home. 80 dozen!!! It took two days, lots of blisters, and when we were finally done last night I had 111 quart bags of corn to put in my freezer. Great considering the price of food and we will also be sharing with my sister and her family , and my mom and her family, and of course anyone who is in need. Now here's the funny part .... it dawned on me the time schedule for my surgery is before the end of the year so you guessed I won't be eating the corn anyhow. LOLOLOLOL but at least my family will enjoy it.
WOW! That's a lot of corn...and a lot of hard work. But it's true your family and friends will enjoy it.
We don't have a deep freeze, and canning is just too hot a job, but I'd put up veggies if we had a freezer big enough to hold it all. Your family will love you for it come winter. Nothing tastes better that sweet summer corn-yummy~

WOW 80 dozen ! Frozen corn does bring back memories. My mom used to do corn, string beans , tomatoes ( in jars not frozen ) You may get to eat some of that corn before it disappears. I am 3 years out though but I have had some corn on the cob...

I'm 9 1/2 mos out. I eat corn. In fact, today, I just made up a big thing of corn "salad" with other veggies and what not. I don't eat it often and don't slather it with salt and butter any more. And when I do eat it, just a small amount (about 1/2 an ear or so) but you may be able to enjoy some of it at some point.
Oh - and I can't imagine pulling all that part - good for you!
