REFLECTIONS
It has been awhile since I have either posted or went to a support meeting.
Over 3 years ago I had my surgery.I went from 335 to 180 and as of this morning I am within my weight goal. The reason why I bring this up is because I never thought back before my surgery that I would be at this weight and stay there.I have not been the poster boy for the surgery.I have like everyone else have been bad alot of times.
This morning I was getting my car inspected across the street from the Barix and decided to see if I knew any of the nurses but I did not.I was in the elvator reading what we needed to bring home frome surgery. It brought back why I had the surgery in the first place and 3 years out am I glad that I had it.
Everyone of us as gone through this experience their own way.I have been through so many changes some good and some bad but every day is a new day with new experiences.
To all those that are having surgery,I wish you the best on your journey, remenber surgery is only a small part but it is a life changing experience.
To al post ops, congratulations on making the hard choices.

Congratulations on maintaining your goal weight after 3 years of having the surgery - we all know the easiest part is probably in the losing - keeping it off gets tougher as we go along and get back to 'normalcy'. Its very heartening to know that continued hard work and discipline does have its payback - and none of us are perfect, that's for sure, but if remember why we had the surgery and much it has changed our lives already then I think we've finally gotten the monster under control.
Thank you for your honesty in this post - we all expect to be perfectionists in this journey and it just doens't happen. Its good to know we're all human!!

Congratulations Bob! You are to be applauded for your "successing" ways! I hope to be able to look back at 3 years post-op and be within my weight goal.
Wishing you continued success on your healthier lifestyle.

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Congratulations Bob. I remember seeing you at my first pre-op meeting. You have been a great example to those of us who followed. Keep up the good work.

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Hi, Bob. Nice to see you post and to read that you are happy with your decision and you are living the life of a post-op person to the best of your ability. You've obviously been successful, and I can attest to the fact that you are inspirational and a help to those of us who have less time under our belts.
Blessings, Jill

Hey Buddy,
We've been missing you at the meetings but I'm glad to hear you're doing well. I appreciate your post for many reasons but especially for the pre's and post's who are younger and have so much anticipation for what lies ahead. It will always be what you make it and it doesn't require you to be perfect, just good, most of the time. We are all capable of this and knowing we have strong support will smooth the road ahead.
Congrats Bob on your 3 years + and I hope to see you soon,
Dennis
