Barix Email
So....I was parusing the barix website the other week during a bout of insomnia (it started out with finding my BMI as I know they have a calculator on that site that is easy to use....) and I stumbled on this "patient success story" area in which I sent them an email about my experience at barix. They requested when you fill out this form to send pics with it - so I just picked two from the ones that were easily stored on my computer and sent it off. Like I said - it was a few weeks ago - I don't even remember exactly how long.
So today I get this email, which appears to be a form letter from Barix. In it says....
".........We would like to include your story in our Patient Success Story Book, located in the Group Practice waiting room. And we would like to share it in your own words. If you would like to participate...."
Now I'll gladly participate in anything related to Barix and I will be contacting the person who sent the email to get further details, although the instructions that followed were pretty specific.
I have one very probably silly question. This Group Practice Waiting Room....what is that? Do they mean the waiting room of each facility - or a main one of some sort like out in Michigan? Not that either one makes a difference.......
I have to write a 3 or 4 paragraph statement about my life before surgery, my experience at Barix, and my life after surgery. 3 or 4 paragraphs, huh? I could on for 3 or 4 books on the subject! LOL I'll have to work on that.....hee hee

Hi Pam,
How goes it? I just got back from several weeks away and will be leaving again on Monday for another venture. Oh the life of a busy nun (LOL)!
Anyway . . . . as far as the Barix Patient Success Story, I received the paper work when I went for my 1 year visit. They will use it in the Group Practice Waiting Room, yes, those are the rooms that we use while meeting with with our Docs, NUTs and MAs. On the tables in those rooms are generally about a half dozen 'stories.' When I was there in June, the room I was in had Dennis and a couple of other folks who don't go to the meetings as much but have posted here on OH. I have always read the success stories while there waiting for the Doc or NUT. It's a great inspiration as well as fun to see folks we know and how far they have come.
The person who takes the pictures at Barix wasn't in that day so I will take an "after photo" and complete the paperwork and send it in to them.
Hope that answers your question.

Jan!!! Whoo hoo!! Glad to be seeing you - missed you this past Wednesday for sure!!
Thanks for answering my question - actually - I've never noticed them before - but I go on Wednesday for a follow up visit (9 mos) and will be keeping an eye out for them.
Things here are good - was admitted to Barix last Friday night for a brief stay as I had devloped abdominal pain early in the day on Friday went to my local hospital (also where I work) and to make a long story short, they found an "early incomplete bowel obstruction" which had myself, hubby, and Dr. P pretty worked up. I was transferred to barix - but that took hours - and by the time I got there had no more pain and the repeat xrays showed the obstruction had cleared. I was possibly going in for surgery that night (especially if it hadn't cleared) but thankfully didn't need to.
Thanks again - have fun on all your adventures!
