moving things along
Anyway, I got to work and knew I would be sick. I know if I bend over, I get sicker, and thought that would move things along. After wretching for 20 minutes, I eventually turned to the way of the runway model.
If you know you are going to be sick, is there anything you can do to get it move along faster. I lost a 1/2 hour of work today running to the bathroom and back.
Thanks,
Hope you feel better soon.

When it has happened to me I have done the finger down the throat (is that the runway model method????). Once the excess or stuck item is out I go on about my business. However, it has taught me to slow down and really chew and that extra bite just is not worth it.
Hope you are feeling better.

That being said, beef jerky seems like an awfully tough thing to chew and digest for you this early out. I'm 5 months as of today and still struggle with any beef products. So be careful what you're eating - I know its a good, easy snack for the car, but maybe try protein bars or something like that instead.

Even WITH sticking my finger down my throat (this sounds like a horrible meeting of bulemics at this point!) I have never once vomited - it's always a horrible horrible case of the foamies for me.
There's nothing that helps me except time. Although - at this point - when something is stuck or I have eaten to fast or what have you, sometimes I'm so nauscious and the foamies don't even come - so there goes the finger - which only produces a case of the foamies - but still seems to make me feel a little bit better.
I don't know if this has ANY clinical sense what so ever - but I have found (by coincidence) that on not so severe episodes if I take a b12 (sublingual) it helps the nausea pass sometimes. I'm not sure for the reason - maybe it's just the flavor or the fact I create saliva and help push whatever it is away - but I swear it works.
I haven't tried beef jerky yet - I've always eyed it up in the store. A lot of the brands have sugar in them, and I've never had it pre op and am "scared" of it post op. Considering I eat just about anything else - I doubt I would have a problem with it - but it's just my mind set.

If I have to, I do the fingers down the throat. First I get the foamies but then I kind of cough until the stuck food expells. I feel a million times better after I get it up. Unfortunately, it took me quite some time to learn the chewing method. I try for 30 chews.

As far as making yourself sick, what about ipicac syrup (sp?) U know, the stuff to take to make you vomit if you've had something poison. I wonder if that would help?
