Hida Scan Complete

Hi, I just read your post sorry to hear your scan was tough.  I'm a nuclear medicine technologist and ironically am just about to start a gb scan here myself!  We just start an IV so there are not multiple sticks involved!  It is a long test, but truly the best way to find out about the gb, the  ultrasound really doesn't show much other than stones and often the problem is function, ejection fraction and of course the lovely sludge!  I'm glad it's over for you, and at least if you do need your gb out it is very easy surgery I had mine out about 2 years before the wls.  But as I ramble on here, I guess you know all this as your a nurse!!  Good luck with the results, I always peak at mine also!!

Funny you should mention the iv thing - because that's exactly what I said to hubby when I came home.  Now granted - it probably wouldn't have been many less sticks for me because trying to get an IV in me is more challenging than anything else - but it didn't make sense to me to NOT have an iv.  I honestly don't "mind" being stuck - I have been a hard stick since 12 years old - the worst a few years back and they ended up doing an iv in my neck because they couldn't get anything else.  And, the tech was AWESOME all be it 4 sticks - and most of them didn't hurt at all which was cool.

Thanks!!  Next time I'll be coming to you for my scans!! lol
