I've been INKED

Well, I had my first tattoo session yesterday.  For those who don't know - I had said at the beginning of my journey that when I lost the weight, my reward would be a tattoo of a fairy.  (Fairies for me are like a sign of transformation because of the butterfly wings and also a sign of "beauty" in a way because they are just so darn beautiful to me) I was supposed to sit for 3 hours yesterday (I've sat for 4 for another tatoo)  Well, there were two things that got in my way.  One was the pain.  This one hurt ALOT due to the shading that it requires.  The second one was that my FIL collapsed at work, was unconscious for about 1/2 hour, had an abnormal EKG, and very low BP.  We spent most of the afternoon/evening in the ER.  We don't have any answers - and I'm not sure if he was admitted or not.  MIL was supposed to call us - but she never did. So, anyway - I sat for 2 of the 3 hours.  There's still a lot of work to be done.  My next appointment is July 25 I believe.  She said she may be able to get that done in 3 hours, but it might take longer.  I have a third appointment set for August if needed.  I must say - I am hoping for it to be done on the second appointment if I can stand it. I love love LOVE the way it is coming out - and is by far the biggest one I have.  I originally did not start out wanting this big of one - but my artist is big on detail and in order to have the details, it needed to be big.  And I'm very appreciative of that - because it's just awesome. There are pics on my profile. Pam

Good for you Pam, I also have been starting to think about my goal tattoo. Hope you have a good day and you get some news about FIL. I know what it is like to spend those times in the ER, I feel like I spend at least 1 day a week there with someone I know. Have agood one. - Katie

TATTOO YOU, BABY!! Congrats for being brave enough to sit that long, just sorry to hear you couldn't get more done and hopefully your FIL is doing okay now and that's why the MIL didn't call. Haven't gone out to check out your new tat yet, but I will. I have a small one on my left ankle that wasn't too bad at all - first of all it was small and with all that extra flesh and fat it probably cushioned the needles! I've been thinking about getting one when I get to goal (you planted that seed) but not sure what I would do yet. Have a long time to think about it though. Well you go, girl, and get the rest of that baby done!! Fantastic!! Kathy

Pam-- You are soo brave!! I don't think I could ever get a tattoo because I am such a baby when it comes to pain.  But it sounds like it will be a beautiful piece. You will have to post a pic when it is all done!! So Congrats on getting your goal tattoo!   I do hope your FIL is feeling better soon and all is okay on that front. If you need anything just pm me! LOL....there is a fine line between "brave" and "crazy"  There were some moments yesterday that I questioned exactly which side of the line I was on! Pam

Pam,

Congrats on the start of that Tatoo!  I would eventually like to get one.  I always wanted one high up on my breast.. I was told it would hurt alot because of the placement of it.  I'm also concerned if when my breasts sag...will the tatoo sag with it? snicker

Tattoos hurt in general! And yes - when the boobs sag so will the tat :( Oh, one of my friends had a rose there, with a very long stem.  Her line was always to her guy friends "You know how much I like you by how much of the rose you get to see" hee hee Pam

Well I'm kinda lucky with the pain thing.  I explained part of what is going on with me in the morning update.  One of my weird symptoms I have is lack of sensation In my skin.  I feel pain but not always at the moment injury happens.  I can stand on a burning sidewalk and not even know its hot.  When I had my cartilidge peirced in my ear I didnt even feel it being done.  I might be able to get a tatoo done and not feel much if its done on one of the days my sensations are diminished.

I want the tatoo done right above the breast on the chest area. My luck that would sag too....snicker.
