9 Month Post-op Visit and a couple of WOWS
Hi,
Just thought I'd share that it was a wonderful visit I had today with Dr. Pupkova, Michele, her assistant and Barbara the NUT. . .
I am down 51% to a BMI of 33, the scale was at 180.1, and I had gained two pounds by my scale, which had me weighing in a pound more than Barix scale (water weight, as my fingers and ankles were swollen with this weather), the doctor is pleased with my progress and told me that I should concentrate on inches rather than pounds, as the pounds will slow down as muscle continues to be made and I should not worry about "ideal weight" but just continuing on with healthy choices, protein, veggies, fruit, fluids, vitamins and exercise. My lab work was good and I am now being cut back on B-1 and B-12 as my levels were high in those, my triglycerides were great, my cholestral was high, but while she said I should talk to my primary care doctor, she is not overly concerned with it at this point. I am pleased!
Two WOW moments in the last week, the first of which was an attorney I used to work for, who works on another floor now, well he was up on my floor, standing by my desk, I sensed someone there and looked up from what I was doing and he said, "Oh, Laureen, wow, don't you look svelte", he had this shocked look on his face, I think the last time I saw him was around December; until I looked up at him, he totally did not recognize me, the 2nd one was wearing a pair of slacks that my cousin had given me, a white linen blend, someone at work commented on me in them, saying, my look at you in your nice white slacks, you look really great in those and I realized that I have NEVER in my adult life worn white slacks, anyone care to guess why? (lol) When I put them on that morning, I looked in the mirror and liked what I saw, not really realizing, until the comment was made, that I had never worn them before. . . What a journey!
Thanks for giving me your support and the opportunity to share my experiences with you.
Hugs, Prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen
My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Congratulations on the Wows, and your progress. You have been doing great.
Hugs,
