Just a "last supper" question...
My cousin had RNY a few years ago and ate something pretty heavy the night before...another one is going thru the lao band and her meal the night before just has to be a light one. I thought I saw someone on here say that they had to be one a liquid diet for a week or so. So, is every surgeon different??
Yep I agree....17 days of liquid hell for me too.
Every surgeon is different. However, I wouldn't suggest eating a heavy meal the night before surgery. I would plan your "last" supper at least five nights before surgery and then stick to a lighter menu for the remaining days. Your liver (and surgeon) will thank you!
I had the same surgeon as Eileen (Boe) and did the 10 day clear liquid diet - it wasn't easy but I lost 17 pounds in 10 days and it really helped me during and after my surgery. Do what your surgeon tells you, but I agree to not have that last 'big' supper right before surgery - it will lay heavy in your stomach and not be a good thing! Kathy
