insurance coordinator...then what??
HI! I'm also from Harrisburg, where are you going for your surgery? I didnt have to have an insurance coordinator, so I cant help with your question, but I just wanted to say Hi and it seems like there is always waiting in some way, shape or form, with this! I'm waiting for all my Pre-Surgery tests next week....ARGGHH Well keep us posted on your progress! :-)

Hi! It's nice to see someone else from HBG! I am going to the weight loss clinic...havent really decided on a surgeon until I actually get approval but Im leaning toward Dr. Currie if it goes through. I have heard nothing but good to come out of there...well except for the wait for appointments. I hate to leave work for an appt and wait two hours just to get back to a room. Oh well...guess that should be the least of my worries right now!
for me yes... I found out part of what I had to get done for surgery... the other part came from the doc... sometimes other docs like family docs etc... might make you do extra testing for them so they write the letter saying you need the surgery... my family doc did that... I had to have extra blood tests... I think it was 22 tubes of blood... thank goodness my hubby drove me home... because I don't think I could of that day lol...
I'm not familiar with your program.
However, I'm guessing that the insurance coordinator will tell you what you need in order to even submit to insurance. Then you'll have to get all that done, and THEN submit it, and then the real waiting starts. You may have some testing or just history to gather up for them.
It also helps, by the way, if you can get letters of support from various docs (chiropractors, primary doctor, asthma doctor, heart doctor, OB/GYN doctor, who EVER you see ) to write letters of support and why this surgery would help you. The more medical backing you have, the better off you are.
Let us know what they say. Oh, on top of the insurance things you might need, you might also need other tests for the actual surgeon.
