I have heard great things about those lights and how it helps people. Here in Canada, we do not get as much sun and many Canadians have to supplement with vitamin D to make up for lack of sun exposure...so some use the lights to combat SADD.
We are going to visit my Mom's family in Quebec in a few weeks, to visit family(I come from a HUGE family) and to see the fall colours along the Ottawa River (my roots) and in the Laurentian Mountains. and I plan to join the local senior's Kiwana's Centre for water therapy when we get back. With two knee replacements in my future, this will help strengthen my legs. Now the trick is to get me THERE. Once I start, I am fine but I tend to procrastinate badly. My bad.
*waves hello from across the continent *
We are starting to get coloured leaves here near Niagara Falls in Canada...the temps have suddenly dropped and it's been a rainy cool week...time for jackets now ...somehow I seem to have missed summer...probably because ot was so hot and humid that I stayed inside as muchas possible. LOLOL...silly me.
Oh dear. I am so sorry..you sure do not need more challenges. I was told some years back that I also had a cataract growing but he said that if it did not start growing quickly within six months, that, chances are, it likely will be one of those very slow growing cataracts that I may never need treated. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. AND I can totally empathize with you and your knee. both of mine have been diagnosed as severely arthritic with bone spurs. I see the surgeon again in six months for discussion on two knee replacements (and I'd better be down another 30 pounds by then too)
Sending loving healing energy!
Hi Ladies,
I was wondering what happen to you Jeannie. I figuired your knee was worse again.
A friend sent me SADD light yesterday for my depression. It leaves a wierd feeling in my head but goes away after being away from it. Hopefully it will help this winter.

D roast beef and sliced carrots
S greek yogurt, turkey sausage snack sticks, and apple
Have a good evening
Darn Jeannie...you retired and got everything thrown at you. I hope the knee surgery will be done with little fanfare and you feel much better soon!
I don't have much to report. I haven't been sleeping too well, so I feel drained.
Breakfast- protein drink
Lunch- tuna with lettuce and a couple of crackers
Dinner- beans with wieners....haha...love this but not too good for me
Snacks- cranberries with peanut butter on celery
I've been missing in action in part because of my damn knee and because my glasses broke. I cannot see a thing without them so I had to wait for a new pair. Apparently, I have a slight cataract forming on my left eye...who knew.
I go today to set up my knee replacement date...the heart guy and the blood guy agree that the iron infusion should be given two days prior to surgery so we are now setting the date....I'll know when the knee will be replaced at 2 today. I am so nervous because I really didn't want to get the knee replacement but there's nothing left they can do to make my knee function without me using a walker and being in severe pain...I am tired of taking so many pain pills.
B: I ate crackers and butter. I know, bad choice but I cannot stand to cook.
L: I guess I'll get a tomato sandwich
D: We will eat at a Chinese place so it'll be shrimp
Snacks: I've been eating celery for snacks....I really need to improve my refrigerator contents....

Snack: Cheese stick and fruit.
Dinner: Leftover chicken and stuffing.

Hello, everyone!
It's 5 am and I am still wide awake so I decided to start the Wednesday post.
Tuesday was spent doing paperwork and typing out John's story about how his family decided to immigrate to Canada in 1957 with six kids. He is extremely precise and re-reads everything over and over...driving me crazy- and I am NOT a typist. However, it's a great story to pass down to the family...he is the family historian. It is just hard when I have illustrations to be done before I leave for my meeting.
Then I got our banking done, paid the bills online and made JB's dinner before leaving to attend our sorority dinner meeting in the Falls. I ordered grilled fish and was doing so well, watching my intake, and then realized that I was seated amongst a group of Trump supporters and I had a very difficult time trying to keep my mouth shut. I hate talking politics and their views were extremely racist, dead wrong & annoying so I found myself eating buns rather than SAY anything. sighs Well back to the straight and narrow on Wednesday.
Today I have to audit our BPW books before our monthly dinner meeting at 5:30 pm and naturally, my laser printer just ran out of black ink. So, since I cannot print out my budget for the meeting, I am starting up a crockpot of homemade vegetable beef & barley soup. The nights have gotten quite chilly here and the trees are starting to change their colours.
Wed Breakfast: hot protein drink
Lunch : homemade soup
Snack: banana and a piece of hard cheese
Dinner (at restaurant): salad and grilled chicken breast already planned
Bedtime snack w/meds: hot protein drink
Enjoy your day, everyone and stay safe!
Hi ladies,
It rained in the early morning but is cool today. I have a feeling my walking days are going to come to a halt soon.
B egg whites ham and cheese omelet and string cheese
L cottage cheese and turkey deli meat
D hamburger and some kind of veggies
S greek yogurt, turkey sausage snack sticks and apple
Have a good day
I'm home from Tahoe. Had a great time crafting, eating and laughing with a lot of really nice women. I came home tired but very relaxed. Now I'm trying to clean house. I have a party to go to this evening for a family friend that is moving to Florida.
Breakfast- protein drink
Lunch- cheese with apple slices
Dinner- not sure what will be served at the party..will make a good choice
Snacks- dried apricots, nuts
My vacation food was over the top. The camp served great meals, lots of food, plus snacks available all day. I don't know if you have noticed but crafters tend to be heavier as a group. I don't know the significance of that, but when I go to craft parties there are lots of foods around. I am sure that I gained a couple of pounds. Back to work on that!
