Hi Ladies..............
I'm finally able to post, and should be back on a daily basis, with much thanks to Eileen, plus Shirley finally broke down and got digital internet rather than the dial-up NetZero she was using.
It will take a while for me to catch up on what's happening with everyone, but I'll spend some time reading past posts to see what's going on with everyone.
Things are moving along on my end, but, of course, not as fast as I'd like. They were supposed to demolish the burned trailer last Monday, but discovered that morning that they have to test the site to see if there's any asbestos. So they took samples Tuesday and told me that it generally takes 7-10 business days to get the test results. It seems I keep hearing that term: 7-10 business days. So, hopefully I'll get the results by the end of this week and the demolition should start next week. Things never go as expected, but I know in the end things will work out.
A few weeks ago, I was getting all types of unsolicited advice....I should definitely to for a double wide trailer; I must have two bathrooms; I should build a house instead; put a modular up; etc., etc, etc. I'd love to have a house, and I did get estimates, but I'd be paying about $40,000 more for a house that would be smaller than the trailer I'm getting. I've worked out the figures and my new mortgage payment will be $150 less per month, and it will include real estate taxes and home insurance in that payment. Before the fire, my finances were such that I probably would have had to get a part-time job in September when my long-term disability from work stops. Now, I won't have to do that. I was in the process of streamlining my expenses and will follow thru on those plans, so things will work out well.
I'm so lucky that my friend Shirley is being so good to me, letting me and my dog, Pookie, stay with her until my new place is ready. Not many would put themselves out like she does. I do try to keep things neat, try to be quiet after she turns in for the night, etc. She keeps saying we're like sisters. I am truly blessed.
I've got to go do some reading, and hopefully tomorrow I can respond to your posts.
It's good to be back.........
Good Morning Jeannie & Ladies to follow
Great news that there does not appear to be any cancer, but that is ALOT of infection! Glad they got everything out & taken care of so he can recover. Poor guy...he had to have felt miserable.
So sad about your brother & his wife. I can imagine how hard it has to be for him to let her go! I can understand the family's feelings about him not allowing her to pass at home as per her wishes, but he must be struggling horribly. Emotions ruling everything. I hope he is able to bring himself to let her go as this situation is rough for all. Prayers!
We had a better morning wJazz, but still the attitude persists. I know it is the age & stage, but I have never had patience for backtalk & yelling. Now I have even less...I am no saint. She starts yelling & I am not far behind...an Irish nightmare. We took away all her electronics back in February... even her phone, wouldn't allow her to join any new clubs, cut back on putting with friends and gave her extra chores. And yes, everything is our fault, but I almost laughed at her yesterday when she blamed me for her not getting up after reading Vickie's post.
Well enough of that.
Today is back to job applications, a couple doctor appointment, and other boring day to day tasks.
Will check in later.
Have a good day.
The gallbladder and pancreas were full of stones and infection. The doctor biopsied the liver growth and while they finished the procedure, they did a frozen section. The doctor came out and said no cancer but they are sending the tissue off for further study. He did have massive infection from having the gall stones for so long and the doctor said that the growths in his liver were probably a result of the infection. Anyway, unless the pathology shows something that the frozen section doesn't, there is no cancer. However, you all remember my sister in law's cancer? Yesterday, my brother had to have her airlifted to Little Rock and the doctors there found three brain tumors. She was having massive seizures and my brother just wasn't ready to give up...even though she was. He called me last night and said she isn't suffering now and has eaten some so he thinks he did the right thing. My brother's kids are so angry at him for not letting their mother die at home as had been planned. I told him last night that the doctor and nurses in Little Rock will do the same thing for her that those here would do and that is give her pain meds, nausea meds, and let her go. He told me sis, I've loved her since I was 15 and she was 14 and I just don't know how to live without her and I don't want her going without me. He did say that he isn't going to kill himself so not to worry. They married when they were 16 and 15 and have not spent a day apart since they were married. He is 65 and she is 64...They really grew up together. Well ladies, I am running late so I'll talk to you later.
Judy...just a quick message...I am not feeling well at all.
YES I watched "THE WALKING DEAD". OMGosh...what an ending! I did not expect this at all. I have been reading everything I can about last night's show. Everyone is going crazy trying to figure out who the victim was!!!! So many people think it was Glen. I am not even going to try to guess. It will be a long, long wait!!! I don't miss that show no matter what!!!!
Sorry your tenant is so mean...I really do hope she leaves!!!
Love and many hugs.....connie d
Good evening Kathy and everyone....
I had keys on my keyboard not working. I gently shook it a bit as I could here rice in there. A few pieces came out. I shut the computer down and left it sit for a few days. I tried it tonight and they keys are working again.
I am doing okay. I am tired of this weather. We haven't even made it to 40 these last few days. We had snow again this morning. The sun came out for a little while and it all melted again. I hope that is the last of it!
Kathy... it sounds like you have your hands full with Jazz right now. Your hubby needs to be firm with her. I know he tries and so do you. Jazz needs to know the only way she will be able to live in your house is by the rules you and your hubby set. Yes, this sounds like a "teenager" but there is no room for anyone being disrespectful. Does she have set consequences? TOUGH LOVE is difficult but it is so worth it in the end. I feel really bad for you. I am sending more prayers and lots of love too!!! You know how much I care about you!!
I am going to go for now...I have had a flu bug. I can't seem to get rid of it. I am fine couple days and then it comes back with a vengeance.
I have no energy to post replies to everyone tonight....SORRY!
Prayers for all our precious OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for those in need.
Lots of love and many hugs to all....connie d
Hi Ladies,
I'm getting here later than ususal. I had fun with my family yesterday. Today I visited my friend at rehab. She still is having a lot of pain. She said it takes forever to get her pain meds. Then my other friend went shopping. I got 4 pair of shorts and a bathing suit for 21 dollars. She came over for supper. Now I trying to catch up on my reading the Sunday paper and Internet readings.
Thoughts and prayers for everyone.
Love and hugs,
Yvonne
Evening OFF family...well I THINK my tenant passed away...not sure yet because nobody has told me yet...but I did see the hospital bed and things were picked up from the apartment today...and family all left this morning at the same time...so I think she did. Keeping a close eye on the tenant next door to them also because she was not very nice with the family at this time and their taking parking places up. I had a confrontation with her Saturday night and it was not pretty. I was told I did handle it perfectly. I have had it with this tenant and her big mouth. I guess she didn't like what I said to her and she came back with "I guess I will find another place to live then!" Go for it!!!! Do us all a favor!!!!!!!! How dare she come down on these people that are saying their final good-byes? It was a different story when her family and friends stopped by her place when her family passed away and took all the parking places...and her family members were not in her apartment dying!!! She is one person I would be very happy to see leave here!!!!!! And many others would be happy as well!!!!
Well I have two new tenants as of today. WOOHOOO!!! Still have several units to rent yet though. But I am getting there.
Anyone watch The Walking Dead last night? OMG!!!!! I wonder who it was that he killed??? Have to wait til next season to find out!!!! GRRRRRR LOL
Need to go lay down for a little bit...back is hurting. No lunch break and I am hurting.
Thoughts & Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSS
Kathy...they wanted to stay at a hotel/motel...but the CHEAP ones around here have been known to have bedbugs...and no way will I let them come back here to visit if they stayed there!!!!!!!!!! NO WAY IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you tried setting her clock an hour AHEAD?? Maybe that might help get her up?? Or do what they do around here...call the police on them!! That seems to do the trick!!! Good luck!!
