Our mechanic is a friend so he is going to do something to make it drivable...he's really busy but he will fit me in at 2...he will be doing it the American way!
Made it to the Y and survived, now I need a nap. Really I am going to rest for an hour or so, then I have to go get a passport photo taken. My passport expires in June. Last time I renewed it I was in line behind a woman who was lamenting that her photo was not to her liking. The agent told her not to worry that in 10 years she would love it. I must say I think I will prefer my new one. I was 100 pounds heavier 10 years ago and I haven't really aged much in the 10 years so if my hair cooperates I will be content. I have good genes in the aging category. Both my parents looked much younger than they were all their lives. People are usually surprised to learn that I am 68. Of course when I start walking and you can hear my bones creak I appear to be my age. Oh well, it is what it is.
I call that parking by the touch method. I do it occasionally but John does it almost every time he drives my car, also a Toyota.
Duck tape and baling wire.....the American way

WE are supposed to get heavy rain this evening and into tomorrow. Flood warnings AGAIN !!!!! My area is high so I have no flood problems but so many folks are already trying to recover and here it comes again for the third time in a couple of weeks. I have lost power twice in the last few nights. Not good when you are using a C-PAP machine. Worse though....I hate going around and resetting all the clocks. Its amazing how many there are. Radios, microwave, coffee pot, stove, alarm clocks in bedrooms yada yada yada.
Your vegetable soup sounds good. I haven't made that in a long time. I am making gazpacho tonight to go with the soft tacos, guacamole, and nachos I am making. We are driving a friend to the airport tonight. Her flight leaves at 1:00am so we will be driving in the storm. Anyway I'm gonna set up all the ingredients and let everyone fix whatever they want. I will eat a soft taco but hubby will probably go for the nachos. She will probably go for both. That will be an easy set up and clean up. Just set up in plastic containers and cap the left overs.
Good luck slugging through all you have to do today.
What a week! Went to Target to get prescriptions and drove too far up onto the cement block and a bit of the undercarriage of the car is loose and dragging. Great. Calling my mechanic to see if he can jerry rig it. Looked it up on the Internet and to replace it will be over $300. I noticed that every person that was saying me too owned a Toyota also. Damn. My fault though.
So except for driving it to the mechanic I have no car this weekend. I'm sure I'll manage. There is plenty to do here at home....
Happy Friday to all of you!
Julia
Linda,
It's Friday and it's raining and thundering and lightening. I almost stayed home but then remembered how much crap I had to do. I left my bowl of vegetable soup that I made for lunch for me today and I am so regretting that move. It's so hard to get vegetarian food on campus so I'll have to order from one of the local restaurants or just go off campus to eat....dang it.
I hear traffic in the hallway so I better get off here and get busy...Have a freakin' fantastic Friday.
On my way to the Y. Back is better. Took a dose of Tylenol and I will warm up on the bike and stretch before Christopher takes me through the paces.
Chat on I'll check in when I get back.
We are going to yellowstone this summer too. My niece has a ranch in WY and they dug out a creek bed to make it deeper and all the rocks were piled on the ranch and since I'm a rock hound, I saw a couple of rocks that seemed interesting and then I started looking and I found so many fossils and fossilized dino poop and the egg...plus I found a ton of petrified wood. I've heard that WY is a really good place to find some good beds of dino eggs but most are in the ground and you cannot dig them out...like a nest of twenty or so eggs but there are times when you can find them.
Trish,
I know how hard it is on us gals when it comes to our babies. We are getting our two grandkids this weekend and I am already coming up with a plan for keeping the girl occupied. The boy is fine playing video games or board games with granddad but the girl wants to sew or cook...and I do whatever she wants. LOL...get some rest before tomorrow.
Yvonne,
In the beginning, I read books and watched videos. My goals were never and still aren't high. I don't aim to do the complicated yoga poses but I do the ones that are easy enough for me but that force me to do some stretching. I love how good I feel during and after. I have a yoga coach that I trade with like I'll do editing for her or more recently, I made her an afghan in exchange for two months of yoga...So, every other Saturday, I go to her studio and we work out for about two hours....it's really nice. Then, one of my colleagues teaches yoga and tai chee or however you spell it and over the summer, we get a group together but the other times, we alternate offices and do our yoga that way.
I think you find it very good for your legs, arms, and neck.
