I think we know each other from other forums.  And It was not you Trish.  It was a general feeling, plus  the PM from another poster. I was not offended. I was told that if they need help with RNY related issues they have doctors or other forums they can go to.  I was told it was "a few people opinion".

Plus that was around 2013...when some emotions on this board were rather heated... I did not feel comfortable getting involved.

I really enjoy following peoples life here.  It is my morning coffee read.. Some happy - some sad times.

I don't feel I have right to get involved, when I see what I call "distractive behaviour or diet", unless some asks for help.  ... And sometimes even the best constructive criticism, when it is not welcomed, can do more harm than good.

I do wish everyone on here best luck. Really.

And Since the "lurker" issue was brought up - I though I would show my face.

I had my RNY in 2008, lost all my excess weight and 10 lbs. Regained some over the years. And now I am app 2-4 lbs from my goal. Slowly reseting my "high / low body weight point"..

I deal with some issues that may or may not be related to RNY like IBS, SIBO, food allergies, adrenal insufficiency, back issues... Life is interesting.

Wow, I am so sorry that you felt unwelcome.  I sure hope it wasn't me, and if it was, I truly apologize.

I am one of those grandmothers who is guilty of Bragging about my Munchkins too much.  I found out I'd be a grandmother about two month post-op, and one year post-op, when my granddaughter was six weeks old, I was down almost hundred pounds, in a size 18 gown, dancing with my son at his wedding.  I had gone from a size 28 to 18, and thrilled.  I'm back up to 22, and holding.

I hope you'll post more.  I have other things to talk about, and may be moving this summer.

Hugs,

Trish

I am one of the lurkers..I like reading your stories.

I am active on other forums and groups here.. I have been on OH since 2008...

and I tried a couple of times to post here...but I never felt welcome.  And then there was the pm I got from one of the "main people here" that told me that my comments are not welcome, and I should keep my opinion to myself... OK.

I don't have children or grandchildren...and for a while this forum was mostly about family lives.. The grandkids...  I did not feel I belong.  This forum seamed to me more like a private group about family and friends and not OH WLS...

I've also seen posts from other new people over 50 who tried to get into the group only to be run off buy some frequent posters here... Comments like " don't respond to her, you don't know who she is and why she is trying to get into the group"..,  were posted on the same tread that some people tried to introduce themselves.

Some people forget this is not a private group, but public forum and anyone can see and read the posts... And fear of unkown is a powerful thing.

Since I am on other forums and groups, that I connected with over the last few years, I don't have as much time and sometimes energy to post daily...

Topic: Thursday Thinkings

Hey Ladies,

Can believe it's Thursday? I started my day by drinking almost eight ounces of water....today I will get it in first. The rest of the day is meetings after meetings. I hate the end of the year as much as I hate the beginning....we meet so much that when I see the catering truck, I get a little nauseous....yes they cater the meetings with equally boring food.

Well, you ladies have a great day.

Topic: Its me again

Woke up at 4:30 gave it an hour then got up.  Guess I'll start us of again this morning.  Yesterday I went to the Y worked on abs and shoulders.  That was my activity for the day.  Laundry and reading completed my day.

Today I have a couple of errands and hope to finish in time to get to line dance class.  The beginner class will bore me in a couple of weeks but the advanced may be too fast for me.  I can understand the moves and remember them but some involve quick foot movements that my knees just don't like.  I would have to sit those out or compensate somehow.

Jeannie I like your idea of having a days supply of water in one container and drinking from it as the day goes along. ( I think it was your idea).  I do not drink enough water.  If having it in one container is not practical for some of us, maybe setting out the right number of bottles and keeping them in view would work as well.  I think I will add that to my goals.

I took Nancy's idea and had a carnation instant breakfast (SF, nonfat) yesterday morning.  I made it with milk and added powdered NF milk for extra protein.  I made it hot.  Will do the same today.  She also has this before bed and I should have.  It would have been better than the pasta I ate.  My timing was off yesterday.  I forgot to eat lunch so I had an early dinner and at 11pm I was hungry and the pasta leftovers from Tuesday was just sitting there in the fridge looking so lonely.  I decided to keep it company.

My goal for today.......DON'T DO THAT....HAVE THE INSTANT BREAKFAST WITH EXTRA PROTEIN.....DUMMY

I will be in Hot Springs Village closing on a condo sale around the 23rd of May so end of May just might work.  Where?  I do love Mountain View even though it is a couple of hours from Little Rock airport.  The cabins on the grounds are not fancy but they are clean and comfortable and the rates are reasonable.  They are priced at 72.00 and 79.00 depending on whether they have a deck or not and contain 2 queen beds or a King.  I'd double check but I know those prices are correct within a dollar or two.  The purpose of the park is to preserve the old time crafts and music.  If you enjoy the simple, timeless crafts of candle making, basket weaving, broom making, quilting, etc etc you will enjoy the craft village.  If you consider these things too old fashioned or "red neck" you might not.  The music is  the same...Old time mountain music.  Concerts are lively with square dancing and jigging and the audience is encouraged to participate in jigging or waltzing.  Oh drats!!!!my power just went off.  These last few weeks have been crazy.  Well my battery is at full power so I'll keep going.

The park is self contained so there would be no reason to leave unless the restaurant and burger place don't suit our taste.  If you are staying at the park the nightly concerts are $10 if not they are $15.  If we wanted to leave and do something else there are caves in the area and I understand there is a small town close by that is supposed to be interesting.  It is Calico Rocks, I have not been there but my hubby says its good for a couple of hours.  Has a museum.

Love the idea of a reunion weekend! Let's set a date and I'll try to get some old timers here. That would be such fun! I have quite a few as friends and I'm sure Linda and Carla do too. And Jeannie. Maybe toward the end of May?
