Topic: Checking in

Good Morning Ladies

It's noon and I am the first to check in.

I had my protein drink for breakfast

Lunch will be veggies and tuna

supper will be shrimp grilled with veggie

I am doing laundry and packing.  I leave Wednesday for Atlanta to see my grand daughter and my son and DIL.  I will be there 10 days.  Laundry and packing will be my exercise for today.  Later I will be going to the bank and also running a couple of errands.  Tomorrow its clean house and any last minute laundry.  I will go to line dance if I can.

Yesterday's trip to NASA was fascinating.  They hope to reach mars with a human in 20 years.  That would be incredible.  Right now it takes 6months to reach Mars.  They are doing research on plasma energy witch when fully developed will allow one to reach mars in 6weeks.

The shuttle program was used to carry supplies and crew to the international space center.  It was very expensive to do this, which is probably why the program was scrapped in favor of private industry. Right now private industry in partnership with NASA is working to make the trip to the international space center more economical.  In order to do that they are working on ways to reuse the capsule and the rocket that powers it.  The capsule has been done but the reuse of the rocket is new.  Space X, a private company has been working on this and has successfully landed the rocket back on Earth, or I should say water.  They landed that huge rocket in the ocean on a barge.  That is mind boggling.

I must say I am disappointed in one thing.  The display of the Nasa 905 ( the plane that ferried the shuttle back to Kennedy space center) and the shuttle on its back is not authentic.  The plane is the authentic plane but the shuttle is a replica because Washington did not see fit to let Houston have an authentic one when the program shut down.  They went instead to New York, California, Virginia and I think maybe the Smithsonian.  New York  and California did so much for the space program and Houston so little.  I hope you are reading sarcasm there.  I guess Texas was not in good favor in 2011.

Jeannie

Sorry for the fright, hope you are well and out of the hospital by now.

Today I went to Nasa Space Center.  Got there around 10:00 am and did not leave until 6:30 pm.  Still did not see everything.  To see it all you need two days.  I am also getting old I guess because audience talking during presentations and videos just aggravates the crap out of me these days.  I think it is extremely rude.  Although most of the offenders were kids with parents that won't tell them to shut up some were actually adults.  I want to go back on a weekday when school is in session.  Maybe then I can actually read some of the explanations and descriptions.

I did my 6,000 steps although I thought it would be more.  Guess I sat in front of videos more than I walked.  I should get 1,000 or so more before bedtime.

See ya tomorrow.

Oh Jeannie that was awful what happen to you. Glad you are doing better.

So far my eating is good. My usual breakfast, Ranch tuna pouch, orange pepper,  and baby carrots for lunch. For supper I had corn chowder with bacon soup. Tonight snack Greek yogurt, apple, and popcorn. I never have a problem getting my liquids in so between running to the kitchen to get drinks and the bathroom is my exercise today

The weather finally cleared up.

Ladies and Gentleman,

I know this is going to be one of those slow days for me. I was stung by a wasp and as you all may remember, I am deathly allergic to bees, wasps, and hornets. Apparently, this wasp had super duper venom because after doing the epipen, I went full anaphylaxis. DH rushed me to the hospital while on the phone with 911 and apparently, I went out somewhere between home and the hospital so he stopped the car to do mouth to mouth and a cop who was looking for our car on the road to the hospital pulled up and took over the mouth-to-mouth until the ambulance came and then from there we went to the hospital and I spent the night in intensive care....got out early this morning to a room. I should get to go home today. I told DH not to post on Facebook cause my brother in law will tell my sister and she will insist on coming up to take care of me, which means, you know, I will have to explain the sink full of dishes....Why is it that I never have an emergency with a clean house?

When I get out of here, I am going to get all my summer clothes out and ready for next week. And I will pack my bags for the AP reading.....barf!  But it sure pays good. We use that money to take the kids on vacation...we call the seven days of horrible essay reading our investment in the kids summer of learning and growing. While we do take them to amusement parks, we usually take them to historic or natural sites...this year it will be Yellowstone.

Okay, if and when I get out of here, I will do yoga, drink and drink a ton of water. But since I am stuck here until the doctor makes rounds, lunch will be veggie burger, leftover fried okra; dinner will be shrimp/veggie kabobs.

Folks, move around today, even if it is just in your living room....and drink the water and eat protein first. Keep the gliders on the shelf at the grocery store....that way you won't be tempted.

Hi ladies,

I was tired this morning but kept getting woke up by my friend by calling and coming over. Finally got up at 1045 am, drink my bottle of water, took my meds and had breakfast. This afternoon, I took my friend to get a haircut and the  pharmacy.  Worked on my Sunday school homework. I had some yummy soup for supper. Corn chowder with bacon that my stepmom made. I'll probably go to bed early since I have to be up at 8 am tomorrow.

I never get sick of watermelon. I've been out returning some things and shortening some tops. I also switched all of my winter clothing into storage and replaced it with summer things. My foods have been going well. I'm thinking of running to Costco for a watermelon too.
