Hala,
Snacks are always my area of most struggle. If I make them and bring them with me, I do fine; however, I don't always bring them. Lately, I have had a a ton of fresh vegetables that I keep on hand but sometimes, I just need a cracker or a chip. I make a really good energy bar and it requires no cooking...I'll post the recipe and you guys can try it. They are delicious and very filling.

I'm having a tired day again. I don't know what is causing it. I do get my blood work done end of next month for my 2 year checkup. Hopefully it will give me a clue. I even went to sleep earlier than I normally do.
Breakfast egg whites ham and cheese omelet and string cheese. Lunch salad, little bit of cottage cheese and some prime rib probably for supper I'll have chicken and dumpling stew. Snack no sugar added fudgesicle, Greek yogurt with chia seeds, and apple.

still reading... not much going on in my life...
I ate really not good for me food last night ...and got rewarded with a lb lower than the day before... I guess high carb meal - caused a good BM.. no..eating carbs does not make me lose fat-weight... butI do follow a rather very low carb diet- so my body "demands " re-carbing once in awhile. Apparently taht helps with restoring leptins and leptin sensitivity.. plus insulin is needed to properly convert thyroid hormones: T4-T3
on another note - since i am allergic to dairy and soy, and I have low sugar tolerance.. I have to make my own snacks.. and i always look for new snacks - the portable foods I can just grab on a go, taht is both- tasty and good for me.
I found a new snack - it is paleo and it does not have noting that I should not have. It is rather sweet, and more like grain free granola bar. Yummy. I found them in WF.. and bought one... it took me 3 weeks to get the courage to eat it... I was pleasantly surprised that the "bar" was very tasty and that it satisfied my need for a sweet snack without messing up my BS.

so far I tried the Original and Kale Krunch. I can't taste the Kale...( i really don't like kale). Both have reasonable carbs and real fiber from nuts and fruits (that does not affect my BS).
They have more real food -protein bars - but for me - the 6 or 7 gr of sugar is about what my body can handle....

I didn't want to start the thread two days running but here goes. Hey Ladies, I hope you are moving, making smart food choices, and meditating. Today, I had a breakfast burrito for breakfast that included an egg, some picante sauce, and some cheese. Lunch will be potato soup. Dinner will probably be vegetable soup.
Hope you guys are on track....eat, move, drink, think...or something like that.

I walked this morning and did my exercise dvd this afternoon. Breakfast was a McDonald's egg mcmuffin and string cheese. Lunch was cottage cheese and watermelon. Supper is chicken and dumpling stew. Snack no added sugar fudgesicle, Greek yogurt with chia seeds and apple.
Must of slept good last night, I got up better this morning. I have Bible study tonight. Tomorrow I'm having lunch with my dad so I'll have to get up early to eat breakfast since they eat lunch earlier than I do.
It supposed torain but hasn't yet. Hopefully it will wait till I get home.

DH and I eat out for seafood about once a week. He eats shrimp but I go for the steamed crabs and the fried soft shell crabs. I think I love crabs because they require so much work; the same reason I love pistachios....you know the fiddling with the food.
Be ready to face the heat....I swear it is like a oven outside. My grands want me to take them to the park to play this evening but it has been so freakin' hot that I just cannot do it. So, I have a PhD student who said she would take my grandkids with her when she takes her daughter and her daughter will have playmates....yeah!

I am finishing up my packing and will drive out tomorrow to Arkansas. Tonight I am taking a friend out to dinner. We are going to eat steamed crab. She and I both like seafood and my hubby does not so when we go there we go without him. I won't be home until the 18th of October so I won't see her and she is kind enough to house sit while we are gone. Without her I would not feel comfortable leaving home for so long. A nice crab or lobster dinner is the least I can do.
So today
breakfast - protein bar
lunch - salad with shrimp
dinner - steamed crab
I opened the door to my office and wa**** by a swarm of gnats. I swear. The building people are going to come and spray. Apparently, gnats are problem this year.
I had an egg for breakfast and will eat tuna for lunch. I haven't decided on dinner but am thinking of potato soup for me and pizza for the kids.

I was up at 7 am to go to the laundromat. So I had my coffee and egg mcmuffin from mcdonalds. Came home and made more coffee and put my laundry away. Drank two cups of coffee then I filled my coffee cup again and water bottle to go sit at my friend's apartment that is gone to get her inspection done. I walked the neighborhood. I had cottage cheese, baby carrots, and watermelon for lunch. I'll have leftover pork steak and macaroni salad for supper. Then my snack will be a no sugar added fudgesicle, Greek yogurt with chia seeds, and apple.
Having a much better day today then I did yesterday. I was so tired yestetday, couldn't get motivated. Also I didn't like the scale either, I was up three pounds. I need to do something different with my diet.

Hi Carla and my OFF family:
Sorry I haven't checked in lately. Busy with work, etc. And too tired to do much else. Today I got up way too early (6 a.m.) and couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up and had coffee and breakfast. Then I took a nap, then I got ready to go grocery shopping. I went out early and beat the heat. I was still all sweaty by the time I got home. I got home at 11 a.m., put away the groceries and had lunch, then took another nap. I'm still tired. I walked around Meijer for about an hour.
Carla, that's lousy about Jared's mother and the way she's treating you. Your family should be invited to the bris too.
Talked to mom today and she's all happy that my nephew called my brother on Father Day's. We were concerned that he wasn't going to get a call. In fact, I was so concerned I sent a facebook message to his wife ... she told me they had been moving that day and yes, he would call his dad. I don't usually meddle like that, but Gary was so sad because he got nothing on Father's Day (other than the card I gave him from the cat). But eventually, he got a phone call and talked to his son and grandson, and Gary was all excited talking about that call. So if I helped that along, I'm happy.
Not much else going on. I have clothes in the dryer and I'm just hanging out here relaxing. It's my day off. I don't have any plans. Have a good day.
