Hey there Jeannie and OFF,
I had a pretty good day yesterday, with the food, minus the candy bar. I went to the kids' ball game, and one of the other grandmas kept offering me candy, which I had never had before. I opted not to try a new candy. I'm already addicted to too many. I make it a rule to not try new sweets. I'm already addicted to too many.
I got some exercise by cutting the weeds and dead grass out front. I wouldn't have need to do it, if some of the weeds weren't healthy and thriving.
Got my dog washed and a blow out. He was shedding terribly and the blowout took off tons of fur.
I have to vacuum now.
Must scoot.
Hugs,
Trish

Ladies,
I hope you are all doing well. Today I am having a little warm broth for all three meals. My belly is tender so I am trying to avoid putting anything in that will make it work. I'm hoping that all this pain is coming from the cherries and melon and not something more serious. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to discuss my latest labs and am going to talk to him about it and he will probably send me to a WLS surgeon. My doctor is in LA and I am not too keen on driving down there, seeing him, coming home, waiting a few days, driving back, and letting him fix whatever is broken; especially, if it isn't related to my WLS.
Well, that's me and my problems.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and get plenty of water in during these hot summer days....Oh, last night, our cooling unit went belly up...I called the landlord (I love that I have a landlord and the bill isn't going to be mine) and told him that it quit working. He is usually pretty quick to fix the problem..
Talk on...
Thank you. Itsi wonderful.
One interesting fact I learned about blueberries is taht most of the antioxidant (the purple stuff) is hidden in the skin. And since we are very poor to break it down - frozen berries are better for us than fresh berries... **** crystal formed in skin cells break the cells and release the components)

Berries are not only good for us but they are also tasty treats. My husband's diabetic nutritionists has always pushed berries as a part of his diet.
Great article.
My wonderful weight loss surgeon posted this on Facebook.

And they are so damn good for us too. It's one of the few very sweet things that I can eat and between strawberries and watermelons, I make myself sick from all the goodness.....
Hi Jeanne,
Hope you feel better soon and please don't put off a doctor's visit if you feel something is amiss. . .
As for lil Miss Juniper. . . when they announced her name on the day she was born, I was like, where did that come from? They had discussed all sorts of names and never once said Juniper, though at about 6 months pregnant, they decided not to discuss names anymore because they were tired of opinions (lol). Her name is Juniper Frances, the middle name is in honor of my brother, but also is my grandmother's name and my middle name, so there is a history to that and I do love her name, it is not heard often, but unlike my name, also not common, she probably won't have people changing it, or spell check changing it (lol). Today she is 10 months old and she just has such a big presence, yes I'm in love with this youngest grandchild of mine. . .
Be well, Laureen

Hi Ladies,
I said I would do better on my eating but I had a snickers this afternoon, now all the crap is gone. I bought some strawberries and a couple of cantaloupes .
Breakfast egg whites ham and cheese omelet and string cheese.
Lunch cottage cheese, red pepper and baby carrots and the snickers.
Supper chicken and dumpling stew
Snack no sugar added fudgescicle, Greek yogurt with chia seeds and strawberries sweetness with splenda with lite whipped topping.
Also did my walk this morning even though it was warm already.
Everyone have a good evening.
Yvonne
I feel for you... I love cherries...but since my RNY I can't have them... Maybe 2-3 pcs at most... I think they are very hard to digest and my gut hates them.. I have problem with bread ... but even bread is easier on my belly than cherries.
